Which school for mechanical engineering?

I really want to study mechanical engineering but i do not know which school i should attend.

Binghamton, Northeastern, or Miami

Where do you want to work and are you interested in a specialty, like turbine engines, robotics or thermodynamics?

im not really sure yet

Then which is least expensive?

Binghamton’s reputation in engineering is not very good, though we know it is a great school. My son ended up at Buffalo and loves it (and choose it over 14 other schools he was accepted too!)

We did not learn this about Bing until after my son was accepted. Students told us the Math and Engin. depts are lacking. Then we looked at the engineering rankings (though they may not be very accurate anyway) and found that UB was ranked right along with quite a few other schools he was accepted to and we would have thought better than UB. UB has great engineering and sciences. We had no clue!!

Other son is at Miami. (not engineering major.) Great school, but again, do your research. Visit and see what is going on in the labs. NE has a very good program, i believe.

Good luck to you.
