Which school for photo?

More interested in commercial photography than fine art photography. It's not a big deal if the school has a fine art focus as long as I can also focus on commercial work (basically my interest in photography covers it as a whole. My portfolio was a mix of seascapes, candid/documentary styled portraits and enviromental portraits. So a mix of fine art and commercial.) My real concern is finding a school where I'll have job opportunities in the commercial industry when I graduate.

Schools I've been accepted to and interested in are:

SAIC (33k merit scholarship)

CalArts

Art Center

Going in as an undergrad.

definitely either SAIC or CalArts. both are top-notch. it just depends on the environment you prefer.

For commercial photography, Art Center is the clear choice. The other schools are much more focused on fine art. Art Center also has connections to industry, as well as being a school with a great design department so it is great for collaborations with other talented students. If you really want commercial work, then Art Center is the one.

I must disagree with mediopollito. For commercial photography I think your are better off with Art Center. Both SAIC and Cal Arts tend toward fine art/conceptual. The drawback is the lack of student housing. Art Center attracts students that are a bit older because of this.
