Hi guys,
College admissions have all come out and I can’t decide what undergraduate school I should go to to pursue the pre-med path. I’m planning to major in some type of biology Currently my choices are :
Uc Berkeley
UCSD(Regents)
Wash U Saint Louis
UCSB(Regents)
UCD(Regents)
Santa Clara University(50k per year scholarship)
I’m trying to find the balance between strength of undergraduate science program, availability of research, prestige, and probability of admission to medical school. What do you guys think?

probability of admission to medical school. What do you guys think?

Probability of admission to medical school has to do with YOUR grades, YOUR MCAT score, your medically related ECs, timing of your app, and your app list. The school is not a factor unless you attend a school where there are many top student premeds and your chances of getting A’s in the weeder classes are reduced.
What is the cost difference for each school? What are your parents saying? How much will they pay? If they pay less for undergrad, will they help pay for grad school?
Parents are paying for both undergrad and grad school. All the UC’s are approximately the 10-20k per year range. Wash U I pay 60K. SCU i pay about 15k. Parents will pay for the place that will help me succeed the best.(aka help me get into med school the most)
Go to the UC’s where you got Regents. Regents will give you priority registration for classes and the first chance a good research opportunities.
