Which schools have guaranteed transfer options

Recently I noticed that some schools offer something called a guaranteed transfer option.
Does anyone have a list of schools that offers guaranteed transfer options? or any transfer option?
I know BU has one but not sure about the others

Cornell has TO

USC has the Trojan Transfer plan.

Programs such as TTP and the one at Cornell are not strictly guaranteed though unless the student maintains a certain GPA.

…and they chose whether to offer it to a candidate or not- you can’t apply for it, or request it…

does that mean even though you haven’t applied to any kind of options, you are automatically chosen from the decision letter when you applied to schools such as BU, Cornell, and USC like what people above mentioned?

I’m not sure I understand your phrasing: do you mean are you automatically considered for TO? At least at Cornell, the possible outcomes for an applicant are: acceptance, rejection, waitlisted or offered the transfer option. And- not many TOs are offered.

There is nothing you can do to instigate it.

Yes, that’s what I meant. Thanks for the clarification

Notre Dame has the Gateway program with Holy Cross College. You would need to apply to ND and then get invited to the program. You will need to maintain a certain GPA (not sure what that is) to make the transfer.

Regarding TTP at USC: we asked specifically about transfer at Admitted Students Day and an admissions officer told us that TTP students would have no advantage over other transfer applicants. He said he didn’t know how the impression of TTP evolved to imply that. Having said that, however, we’ve been told things from AOs at other schools that turned out to be 100 percent wrong.

Maybe things were different in 2019, but my son did a QA appointment only session with a USC transfer rep who made it very clear that as long as he maintained a good GPA, he would almost certainly be admitted.

Otherwise, why even offer the TTP option? A kid could just apply as a transfer and hope for the best.

Georgia Tech has a few Transfer Pathways also. It’s a rejection, but if you maintain a certain GPA at a CC with a certain course outline, you may apply again the following year. Not sure if anything is guaranteed or not. These programs seem to be targeting legacies, URMs, and in state students.

D17 had a guaranteed transfer option to Northeastern and D21 had a guaranteed transfer option to Boston University. Both just came in their decision letters.

Both were the traditional automatic entries provided they had a decent first year GPA (I can’t recall but maybe 3.0?). The Northeastern AO contacted D17 during her freshman year when it would have been time to use the option. Not sure if D21 heard from BU (she is currently a freshman).

Anyway, neither daughter used the option, but it was good to know the option was there if either didn’t like her first year at school.
