Which scores should I send?

I am applying to UCs, and I am not sure which SAT score to send. For my first SAT, i got 660 reading, 680 math, and 640 writing. For my second, I got 580 reading, 680 math, and 770 writing. Which one should I use? The second one does have the overall higher score, but I have heard that many schools put more emphasis on only the reading and math scores.

Indeed many colleges look mostly at the reading + math. US News uses only that sum in their ratings. But what do the UCs do? That’s what matter here. We know that they don’t superscore.

Since your reading is sub-600 on your second SAT I would be inclined to send the first. Perhaps someone on CC has inside information regarding UC Admissions and can enlighten us convincingly as to which option is best.

Yes, while my score is much higher for the second one, it is only because of my writing score. It all depends on the importance of the reading score.
