Which teachers should be for teacher recommendations?

I know teacher recommendations are fairly important to colleges because they help them see what kind of person you are in the classroom. Does it matter what subject the teachers teach or is that not that big of a deal?

Its best to get atleast 1 english teacher, mainly because they normally help with college admissions and know what to say. Plus they know how you work because they’ve read plenty of your essays and are most likely great writers themselves.

^^^^^ Uhhh you might want to ignore federico.

Depending on the colleges you’re targeting, they generally want one humanities/english teacher and one sci/math teacher.

You want them to be able to write this:
[Writing Recommendations | MIT Admissions](How to write good letters of recommendation | MIT Admissions)

Okay, T26E4, i’m sure you know more than my guidance counselor about college admissions

I’m not saying that Federico. But I feel your (and your guid counselor’s) blanket advice of a English teacher is too strict. Maybe it works well with your school (which is great for you!) but not every school has the same resource. I had an Econ teacher and a Bio teacher write mine. My performance in both those subjects was superior to my time in English. I’m sure my AP Eng teacher would have done fine – but my AP Econ and AP Bio teachers had more to say. Plus, I was very confident that they were used to writing rec letters for successful candidates to the schools I was targeting. I think my scenario may mirror many others.

That’s all. Sorry if my remark about your advice was too dismissive. I apologize.
