Yep, of everything in my IGETC my transferrable math is in jeopardy of my passing. Everything else has been completed minus my transfer level math.

Which UC's would allow me to complete it in the summer?

UC Riverside told me this was acceptable, but thats currently the only UC school I know of that does this.

I’m pretty sure that IGETC has to be completed by Spring, pre-reqs can be completed during Summer. Keep in mind that IGETC isn’t required, but for Cal (especially that I know of) it’s much better and safer that it is.

As a lot of other CCers have mentioned, it’s not absolutely mandatory but as I have heard from the UCLA Transfer Director, a bunch of Honor counselors, etc. for Cal/UCLA it’s crucial. I always thought it was, but I realize that not all majors require the IGETC and/or it is not a good pathway to go for their particular major (i.e.: engineering.)

Yunie, this is very interesting; thank you for responding.

I’m an Anthropology major having completed everything on my IGETC except for the MAth transfer level requirement. You’re telling me that aside from Cal & UCLA, that I can still get into a UC without having completed/passed this Math 112 class this Spring? And they’ll just let me in and I complete that Math class at the UC, or this summer at my CCC?

How can I get definite responses, individually from each of the UCs?

The UCLA admission decisions aren’t up for me yet, though so far I have been accepted to Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Irvine.

Ooh, you’re referring to the Math requirement, in which case, is required. If you noticed on the application and on the update for January, they had you check whether you had completed the English courses and the Math, so it’s extremely important for you to finish those. If it was something else on the IGETC aside from those two English courses and Math course then they would be more lenient! Good luck!

Edit: like I said in my first post from this thread, IGETC classes have to be completed by this Spring and you are not allowed to complete them during Summer but pre-req classes from your major, you can go ahead and do! Sorry for the confusion, I had to read this whole thing over again…>__<;;
