<p>Which word list is the best to use for the SAT?</p>
<p>I've been using Barron's 3500. Is there any other word list that is worthy of studying?</p>
<p>look at the Testmasters on-lin course thread on the second page. There is a link to a testmasters vocab list. I would know those words for sure.</p>

<p>Yeah, right! The fancy word list with the word 'fart' in it. I'm afraid, somebody around the net compiled it, inspired by the ubiquitous interest for that list.</p>
<p>@21385: You know what? The whole Testmasters thing is a small portion of Barron's 3500, with some nonoverlapping entries every now and then. So if you know the latter, just don't bother or maybe skim through Sparknotes 1000(online for free) to make sure you don't miss 10-20 words.</p>

<p>The fart is a joke but the rest isn't. If you go back over the old CC threads you will see that the words on the list are words from June 2005, November 2006 and a few other test dates that have not been released by Collegeboard. So, the probability that they will be tested again is very high.</p>
<p>don, economical, fanfare, fart, planetarium? seriously who would pay for this stuff...</p>
<p>check the December 2006 SAT thread... one of the sentence completetions was economical/synthetic. The Sc was one of the first in the section about rayon vs. silk. That is why economical is listed. Planetarium is plisted because it was an answer to one of the CR questions. There really is a reason for most of the words.</p>

<p>I'd study a more comprehensive word list just in case - not Barrons 3500, but the lists with 600-1000 words... this one is bound to cover quite a few of them and should make memorizing a bit easier</p>

<p>As you can see, there is a lot of overlap on these two lists and for valid reasons. These two lists would give you a great chance of doing well, but, of course, it is not guaranteed.</p>
