White House Internship

AwesomeOpossum

haha, so its looks like we already have connections to eachother, that is, through Robert Gibbs, lol.

No i think its a glitch that not everyone else received the email today, i think it was a mass email meant for everyone not a process of elimination as mentioned before

Hey I just wanted to say hi to ya’ll. I’ve been reading this forum for the past few days, and I must say—while it hasn’t calmed all my nerves hearing about the decision for this internship, it certainly has made it easier to get by knowing I’m not the only one haha.

its so funny when i speak to his family’s friends. they call him bobby, and one of them refers to him as if he were still a little kind…saying :“hows lil bobby” etc

kind…immeant Kid

And just for the record, so we’re all on the same page–I received 2 confirmation emails early on, and the “wait till the end of this week” email today. I’m probably the youngest here–just turned 18, will be a frosh next fall. A lot of people have told me that because of my age I don’t stand a chance at getting this–but didn’t they say the same thing about Obama in February 2007? I can still hope, haha.

AJFXW

good thing about being so young is you have many many many more times to try again and again, so dont worry, even if u dont get it, u gots time. i do too, but not as much as u do. good luck tho! :)

Haha, thanks. The funny way of looking at it is that, technically, I am probably the only one in this forum who did not vote for Obama.

AJFXW: Oh Lord, I certainly hope that Big Brother doesn’t have his eye on this forum. You may have just gotten your name moved from accepted to REJECTION. Naw jk jk, I’m just teasing. Good luck to ya, and in all my Googling a month or so ago… there was a past forum on here about a senior in high school who got the internship (at least if I’m not mistaken). So hey, you can’t be counted out.

EDIT: The forum itself was from years ago. Just to clarify. I just recently Googled it.

Haha, I fully supported Obama, interned for local joint campaigns, and did all that…I meant I didnt vote for him technically, cause I wasnt eligible–I turned 18 this past March.

Oh yeah, that didn’t click. Oops. Then you’re still safe, haha.

I have a very important evaluation tomorrow and yet I find myself glued to this thing as if Im gonna get more insight this late at night, I think I am truly hoping for anything now!

Oh man, same! I have homework due like none other, I am so behind in my readings. Not to mention a ten page paper due Monday followed by another 4 pager. I have been meaning to at least START all of this! But here I am again…

Hi Everyone!
I feel somewhat weird posting here because it seems like everyones already established who they are.But I figured I’d post and stop lurking around:
I’ll be a sophomore next year at a top 20 liberal arts college in Ohio(that kind of explains my username-I was obsessed about transferring and joined CC to see what my chances would be)Anyway,I’m so happy that everyone seems to be optimistic about this experience. If anything,I think we all deserve the internship at the White House. For the person that said they wanted to make a FB group…PLEASE DO! Honestly,I’m kind of surprised that there aren’t any groups as of yet.I mean 4000 people applied(apparently)I’m willing to bet 75% have Facebook.
To answer the question posted before…I definitely think we’ll be getting word by the 24th.It wouldn’t make any sense for them to continue this torture.(And I don’t think Obama would approve…lol)
Also…I wanted to mention the fact that I’ve just discovered(through Facebook statuses) that few former U.S. Senator interns(from Chicago/Midwest)are applying for this internship.I’m a former U.S Senate intern so thats how I know.
Once again, let me know when you make that FB group! :)

Go crazy folks!!! Go crazy!!! Yeah I feel like we’re all waiting on the golden wrapper so we can go inside Willie Wonka’s Mansion of progressive change! lol I heard they have a river of hope, and if you lick the wall paper it taste like sweet justice! lol
Oh yeah guys I’ve lost it. lol Somebody bring me back…

Wow,that was incredibly…amusing.
haha,that made so much sense!
I think its okay if we lose a few of our marbles before Friday…
It’s probably expected
haha,and the craziness continues…

I really really wish they’d send out email notifying people as they’re removed from consideration. This waiting is killing me.

prospie67

Oh, I def. will start that group, for losers and winners alike, lol. However, Ill prolly have to wait until the decisions are out so folks dont give out there name and identities just yet for fear of Big Brother, haha, lol, but u know what i mean lol.

oh, and the willy wonk analogy is so befitting! lol

I go away for one hour to study DiffEq and I come back to find so many jokes made :P

Also-- is it creepy that I think of you guys as my surrogate W-H Internship family on CC? totally not creepy right…right…? Bueller?

also AJFXW, although I’m a freshman in college I just turned 18 at the end of December so I too was not able to vote in the election (which I actually wrote about, and how I still stayed politically active).

Fun stories: I got the Dean of the Honors College (who is also my honors physics professor) to cancel class for the day so that my entire class could go to a Michelle Obama rally on campus in October, I ended up sitting on stage with a few class mates and got to speak briefly to her and shake her hand! Totally epic and all for free! AND when Obama won my campus went crazy and “rioted” (ran down streets) until 2 am! hahaha EPICCCCC.

Best days ever!

On another note: totally think Friday is D-day 3! Third time’s the charm right?? :)

AwesomeOpossum

you’re a freshman and you are ALREADY taking DiffEQ? accelerated program or what? wow :), and im here showing off about my school, lol.
