White House Internship

D-Day Eve, nothing here…womp womp.

Maybe at this point we should resign ourselves to the fact that Friday late afternoon/evening is what we’re aiming for… :expressionless:

I guess they wanted us to make the most of our Friday night! :p

presjam03

instead of being so down with all the womp womp womp

lets be happy

UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ Bow CHicka BowWow :)

But it’s toooooo early for such excitement… lol I’m still nursing my first cup of coffee! haha

haha, when I used to go to Georgia Tech, alot of European Kids used to always play Techno, etc, at all times of the day…haha and me coming from a very rural place could never assimilate lol

This is my last glimmer of hope to get out of the large law firm machine…it will eat you alive. :)

hahahahaha… I remember being a record store and this guy tried to pick me up… he was buying a bunch of techno – that was my first meeting with the genre. lol

presjam03: Awww lol Did/do you want to go to law school?

I DID want to go to law school but after working and seeing the life of an Associate…I am not so sure.

My desire to work for the Government never seems to go away! This could be my big break. :)

:) I certainly hope so!

It’s all I’ve really wanted to do for years!

If we dont get in this time around, we are going to have to learn to play by the rules…
Work on 'em connections! :)

I USED to want to be a lawyer also…then my grades woke me up haha. Is anyone else a recent grad like myself, or a senior(4th or 5th year haha)?

I graduated in 2007 so I am an old hag compared to the rest of these people… :)

There are a couple of recent grads… I’m not sure if there are any other graduate students, though…

Don’t feel like an old hag until you start teaching sections of college students. ;)

No worries… you’re not an old hag Presjam03! I graduated in 2008. So I’m basically right there with you. haha

Hey, you’'ve already heard this a bunch of times, but I have been reading this blog since I applied to try and sneak some extra information but we are all in the same boat so it never works. I was an organizing fellow in southwest Ohio and then a FO on a college campus, that would sound really impressive if their weren’t like thousands of us with that same qualification all applying (most with higher GPA’s).

Anyway, after reading all of your comments I had a moment yesterday when I realized that even if I could find someone way to sneak myself in, I wouldn’t because it wouldn’t be fair to all of you. So with that in mind, Good Luck to you all.

Thanks Merry! Have you interviewed with the White House yet? Have your references been contacted? I know the people here are trying to get a handle on everyone’s individual situation. (Plus, your experience will help a lot). :)

i really, REALLY should not be checking this website with finals and papers due next week, but i just can’t stay away!

of anyone who’s been interviewed, how did it go? what did they ask? have they contacted you again?

sorry if these questions have been asked before…i didn’t really have time to go through all 46 pages

ucralum

I am a junior about to be a Senior…but ill be a Senior to the First Power, and then graduate as a Senior to the 2nd power (squared haha)…

my engineering track is 5 years, or 10 semesters. The average engineering major at my school graduates in 10.2-10.5 semesters… so yeah :)

I graduated in 2007 with PolySci and Spanish Translation Bachelor Degrees. I did get interviewed last week. Interview went fairly well (minus my nervousness) so we will see. Just basic interview questions. From what I was told, my office seemed to have narrowed it down significantly and it looked like the selection process was in its final stages…
