Maybe I'm reading this incorrectly, but Bill Gates' daughters are 10 and 4... so tell me, how did they get jobs?

Haha, hope you're doing well, Sarah. Live life like you mean it. There are happy times, there are sad times, but what's most important is what you make out of it. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

yeah it needs to be deleted. uh mods...delete it?

by the way, i just came back from court. my father was arrested on the morning of august 3rd, due to the beating he mercilessly gave me on the morning of august 1. there is a possibility he might go to jail, or lose his medical license. so far he's not allowed to have contact with the children, and they already took his passport away. i was forced to move out with my sister for 2 days for safety reasons, and i might have to move out in the near future. life is really rough, and school starts so soon. woe on me. the bruises look so bad.

you guys think this is an okay essay for college? this is by far the most memorable month, august 06, of my life.

ouch, that's horrible. i would suggest you paint yourself as having matured through the process. be really careful writing these kinds of essay. for every single word and every single phrase, make sure it says (ultimately) something positive about you. if it's just a "omg my life is horrible" essay, adcoms won't sympathize with you

The thing I hate most about my parents is that they fight so much we are notorious on the entire block. They even do it at church, while shopping with me, in front of friends etc,

IT gets 4X worse at home. Some of my neighbors probably thinks that we killed a household members because of all the screaming. I could just tell by the look on their faces(they were doing something in their yard two houses away while my family was fighting with the windows closed--yes, they heard everything!)

And most of the time it is not just fighting. There's screaming, stomping the floors, throwing kitchen appliances and furniture, hitting, shoving, tons of cursing(good thing they are not in English) you name it. Thanks God nobody had gotten seriously hurt yet. And all of this over petty stuff like dirty house or my dad/mom spending too much of the grocery money. Some days I feel like I'm living in some kind of circus/zoo.
I use to try to interfere but now I just stay out of it. Good thing I'm leaving for college this fall.

I mean I love my family and all, they brought me up and such, but we never ever had more than 2 days of peace in our house( last time we left for vacation without my dad for 30 days, when we came back guess what... less than 4 hours and they were fighting again, and this time I had to get involved for no reason)

Then again all families have problems. Just make more friends and look on the bright side. My family is messed up but somehow I still love them. How? When I realized one day that they are not going to be there forever. Enjoy the time you have with them. You never know what might happen one day either to you or to them.

_-

For your essay, you could relate to the topic but not devote the entire thing to it.

Remember, be thankful that you have parents and siblings. I've had pretty much a rough day every day. Now that my mom and my only sibling are overseas, it's really quiet, since my dad's always at work. I have had to prepare my own breakfast, my own lunch, and my own dinner (as well as my dad's dinner) every day, and I'm the one that's cooking, vacuuming, doing the dishes. It's been one week, and I have two more to go. Sometimes, even though I hate the yelling and the throwing, I really miss the other half of my family that's away. Be grateful for what you have. :)

Sarorah, hope you're doing better.
