I really want to study BME, but I really don't think I have a shot to get in. I'm also paranoid that I won't get into JHU because I applied BME, even though AdmissionsDaniel said applying BME doesn't affect getting into the university in general.

I really want to go to JHU and I'm kind of regretting not applying maybe as ChemE or Biology instead. I really thought about applying ED BME and taking advantage of the fact that if I didn't get into BME, but was accepted to the university, then the ED contract would be void. Did anyone do that?

Anyways... so who applied BME ED/RD? Any thoughts? (i thought this thread would be a nice break from all the CHANCES threads!)

I applied BME, but didn't indicate a second choice for my major...I don't know if that means that if i get rejected BME, that I'll even be considered for regualr admission??????? :/

Son applied BME -- not sure that this was a good idea and I said so at the time, but then I back pedaled huge. Truth is, I figure you miss 100% of the shots you never take. (jordan) and to not try at 18? You have your whole lifetime to be cautious and calculated.

This said, I have no idea if he picked a second major but I imagine he will look at things in their entirety when decisions are received. I do hope however that BME does not preclude you from being accepted to the school (is it truth or lip service?).

Question: Do you think getting going to #1 ranked Hopkins for BME is worth it in lieu of attending #2 ranked Duke (imo, a much much better school/student life) for dbl major in BME/Econ?

wow that would be a tough decision. you can't go wrong with either, but I would give the slight edge to Duke because of the double major possibility. good luck!

MarkTwain, I'm in that dilemma right now as I got into Duke's BME (plus I have an interests in econ/poly sci). Of course all that hinges on getting into JHU's BME program.
