I applied to SCA, so a lot of it is based on my portfolio I think… as a whole, I think I’m very borderline.

SAT: 2090 (CR 710, M 650, W 730)
SAT II: Lit 620, Math 660, US 660
ACT: 31 (verbal 35, don’t remember the rest… everything above 30 except math 28)
AP: Euro (4), Art History (3), English Lang (4), US (5), US Gov, Spanish Lang, English Lit
GPA: at the end of junior year W was 3.89 and rank was top 20% (116/561)… but when I sent in midyear grades it dropped a LOT because I got a C in physics (everything else stayed the same though) and ~50 people dropped out of my class. I don’t know off the top of my head what it is right now, but it’s relatively bad. Our school doesn’t tell us UW GPA though. I think it’s between 3.3 and 3.5, so pretty low for CC standards. But my grades aren’t bad… I have all As and Bs (except physics). I haven’t gotten a C since frosh or soph year… definite upward trend.
ECs: I’m very involved in my school’s theatre department, I play a few instruments (violin in my school’s orchestra), scholastic bowl, a lot of random volunteering stuff… four officer positions in clubs.
Essays: I really don’t know, I think they were okay/decent. I wrote about having to build an 8,000 gallon pool for a play for the Visions and Voices prompt. I wrote about my insane orchestra teacher for the activity one.
Hooks: I’m an immigrant from Ukraine, I speak multiple languages… meh. Not much.
Rec letters: the three teachers that wrote mine know me really well so I think they were good. My counselor knows me pretty well too so I think hers was good too.
School environment: since they take this into consideration I may as well talk about it… I hail from a fairly large public school in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. my school’s average ACT score is in the low 20s. Virtually no one takes the SAT/SAT II. I was in the top 20% with a really low GPA because they use weighted GPA for rank. Our entire GPA/rank system has been completely revised for future classes but we’re stuck with a messed up one (basically if you take AP/Honors classes and you take one elective that isn’t, it lowers your GPA even if you get an A). All of my classes are Honors/AP except for electives, math, and PE. Oh, and PE is required AND computed into GPA. I think my rank would be a bit higher if those Bs and Cs in PE didn’t count. :|

yeah i’ve had that same damn status… i feel like a kid looking into a candy store with like 1000 people inside enjoying myself hahah… dramatic? i think not… but i digress…

SATS: Math 750, Reading 690, Writing 660
GPA: 93% unweighted, have taken 9 aps and every single honors class… My senior grades are mad good, 97 percent and 96 percent respectively
ECS: Boys state, class president/vice president 9th and 10th grade, Captain of the Soccer team, captain of the math team, calc tutor 11th and 12th grade, ap chem tutor 12th grade

this month needs to end… well, end on a good note but quickly…

I’m still on, as in I checked like 5 minutes ago.
“Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st.”

._. Does this mean that I’ve been rejected or something? Because it seems that everyone is getting their application forwarded and I’m still in limbo.

“I think it’s way too soon to assume anything. Forwarded probably just means they’ve processed your app or something.”

But it seems that people are already receiving their acceptance letters and yet my application hasn’t even been “processed”.
It’s killing me because I’m borderline too.

SAT1: 2050 [710M,650W,690 CR]
SAT2: 610 US History, 780 MATH2C
GPA: 3.2 UW but like a 3.8 Weighted
EC: Involved in a whole bunch. I’m like secretary of 2 clubs and treasurer of 1. Participated in Orchestra, and a whole bunch of volunteer organizations such as library volunteer, volunteering at the local humane society.
Essay: Pretty well written; talks about overcoming the hardship of moving between states my sophomore/junior year.

@zprophety - ahh, I understand. Well at least we’re not alone, right? Which school did you apply to?

Last year (I was looking at the old “fall grades” threads) it seemed like everyone was getting status changes from fall grades around this/next week. I think forwarded just means “making final decisions.” Don’t worry! We still have a month to be “forwarded.”

@dreamupsided0wn. Viterbi School of Engineering, but I don’t think that I’ll necessarily get into that school, haha.
Hopefully they’ll admit me as a CLAS undeclared.
^^; You?

@zprophety - I applied for the School of Cinematic Arts, but I don’t think that I’ll necessarily get into that school. I’d be happy with undeclared.

im surprised i havent been accepted to usc. I’m also stuck on fall grades.
GPA: 3.9
SAT1: 2280; 1520 CR+M;800 on Math
ACT: 34
SAT2: 800 korean 780 math2 740 us history
EC’s: founder/vicepresident fbla, asb treasurer, varsitysoccer 2 years, etc

it sucks because usc is my firrst choice school :[. i hope we all get in sometime this week!

I’m not sure which one it was, if you scroll down to the bottom of this page it was one of the ones under “Similar Threads.” Last year there was no “forwarded” status so the “fall grades” people changed to “being reviewed.” But you get the gist.

I changed from the “receved your fall grades” to “forwarded” last night (yes, it was a Sunday). Although I am still not anywhere near accepted, I am hopeful that my application is moving in the right direction.

I was stuck on that status for the longest time (probably a month or so). I checked just now and it FINALLY changed to “forwarded” status. I’m beyond ecstatic right now just being able to see something different for once. I’m just really hoping it’s a good sign!
