I received my AP Bio score yesterday just to find out I had gotten a 1. What the hell?! I couldn't believe it! I worked my butt off all school year studying for that test. I even took practice tests in class and scored ~80-95%s. The AP Bio class I was in was very rigorous, although I still managed to get straight A's. I was one of the top student in my class. I was expexting at least a 3, maybe a 4.

I have also read of some people who expected a 1, but got a 5. What's wrong with college board?

Btw, a friend of mine, who will probably end up being next year's valedictorian, scored a 3 on AP Chem, and, to be honest, she really studied hard for the exam.

So, does anyone else thinks his score is incorrect?

Maybe your assumption was way off? Jk, I have a hard time believing a good student could have misjudged a score by that much. Do you think you may have misbubbled?

It might be a good idea to get a rescore. A 1 or 2 pretty much means that you Christmas tree’d the exam.

Denial is the first step, my friend.

You scored 80-95% on practice AP exams? Or on your tests at school? Did you go over the FRQs with your teacher after they were released back to you? If the answers you put on the test matched what your teacher did, and you believe you did fairly well on the MC without guessing too many times, then your score may be incorrect. I have heard of people requesting rescores and receiving higher scores. However, your FRQs cannot be rescored.

Lol I got a 5 in calc and defffff didn’t expect it.

But I also got a 3 in chem like your friend, and I worked really hard all year… It’s probably accurate for me though, because I really froze up during the FRQs. Idk though

Your conceit on this forum is irritating. I honestly hope you don’t act like this in real life.

I agree. A rescore would be in order here.

Seriously…

Just ask for a rescore because it is probably harder to get a 1 on the ap exam than a 5, assuming you guessed on all of them

Based on past years, nearly 50% of test takes failed the AP Exams. No matter how well you do, collegeboard fails the bottom half. Don’t worry about it, low AP scores and a A in the class shows that your course wasn’t rigourous. But thats not your fault, you excelled in the conditions given to you. It shouldn’t affect college admissions either.

It’s worth it to ask for a rescore at least.

im on the same boat as you, i did really well in my government class and pulled off an A for the year, did well on the practice tests, and studied my ass off. but i still got a 2.

@CrazyCow

“No matter how well you do, collegeboard fails the bottom half.”

Really?

Yeah, I know CrazyCow is right about the bottom half thing. CollegeBoard changed their scoring distribution for bio a few years ago- I know because I’ve looked at the charts on Wiki since I took the bio exam this year too ([Advanced Placement Biology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](AP Bio - Wikipedia)). They have them for other courses too, if you’re curious.

I wish my school had as much GPA inflation as your schools seem to indicate. I easily got a 5 on Gov and barely got a 90 in the class.

I think mine is wrong, for A.P. English. But it isn’t the end of the world, since A.P. Lit, which I’m taking next year, counts for the same class at most colleges and I’m taking that next year. I got a 2, and I never pretested lower than a 4.

Maybe the teachers’ scoring for the practice FRQ wasn’t accurate?

It’s possible, but she took classes meant for those who were actually going to be scoring the tests. My handwriting could have sunk my scores, because it is actually that bad, but even on my low end for FRQ I couldn’t have done as bad as I did.
