Just wondering how many CCers have a job during the regular school year and during the summer.

If you do, how many hours do you work a week? What is considered working "a lot" while going to school at the same time?

I work at microsoft. It’s every day after school until 6, so it’s a lot worse than other jobs but very worth it.

I work at a local hotel on weekends. The hours range from roughly 6-16 hours per weekend, with a few weekends per year that I don’t work at all. It works well during the school year except seeing friends can get a bit difficult.

I work eight, sometime sixteen, hours a week all year round. It can be inconvenient and there have been a few times when I really needed the worktime to do other things, but money is money right? If I didn’t have to have a job, I never would have gotten one, but since I do I’m grateful I have it.

I have 2 jobs. I get a decent amount of money from them.

I have had a part-time job since July '10, and this summer, I have worked at least 40 hrs. a week because of my paid-internship on top of albertsons!

I work at the library, usually around 10-12 hours a week.

i work 25 hours a week at the fish market during the summer

What do you do there?

I’m looking to help my family run the business this incoming school year and I get to set my own hours. I don’t want to take on too much work because then it’d interfere with my studies, but I don’t want to do too little, because I want to help out obviously.

What’s a good amount of hours to do? Would ten hours a week be good?

I have a job with SEMAA in my community. I’m working only 3 hours a week because of band, but I’ll start working about 7 hours a week when that’s over with.

Not really a job, but I’m trying to tutor this coming year. I have to wait until all of the students start failing AP Chem and AP Physics though

I work about 8-16 hours a weekend at a local movie theater year round. I have worked most of the holidays/bigger events there and started working there a year ago.
