Who has gotten in / when did u apply

vc08 - really? colleges release decisions for deffered/waitlisted people later than those accepted?? i had no idea, i just thought they'd tell you following the same time range as everyone else
also, when/how would someone get waitlisted? when all the spots are filled or even when there are still some available?

i'm just going by what an adcom told me, that they accept the best candidates first, and anyone who is borderline they will defer. they will notify you that you have been deferred to regular admission. usually waitlist follows deferral. if you are waitlisted, it means that you are a candidate for admission, but they will only accept you if they have openings in their freshman class, so usually waitlisted students don't find out if they are in until june or so. but it is not too common. hope that answered your question...

It's official... Decisions WILL be emailed on the 9th.

ah i see. thanks!

How'd you find out blackpen?

I asked via email to the person that came to my school.

hey guys, everything was received by the university on oct. 26th. when will i hear back from them?

Ya, november 9th and then every 2 weeks thereafter.
Talked to a rep that came to my school as well.

What do you guys think will be for borderline stats? I think I will get a decision on the 9th, I just hope I don't get deferred.

If I had to guess, I think I'd say for deferrals anything less than 3.8 GPA and a 28 ACT. I think anything above that with decent ECs, essays, and a medium-hard course load should get you in on the 9th.

^^^That's pretty high. I seriously doubt it.

Really? So you think the cutoff will be lower?

"If I had to guess, I think I'd say for deferrals anything less than 3.8 GPA and a 28 ACT. I think anything above that with decent ECs, essays, and a medium-hard course load should get you in on the 9th."

Josh - Are you talking about in-state only?

""If I had to guess, I think I'd say for deferrals anything less than 3.8 GPA and a 28 ACT. I think anything above that with decent ECs, essays, and a medium-hard course load should get you in on the 9th."

Josh - Are you talking about in-state only?"

Yes

last year i remember hardly any 3.7's or lower got in early...

Wow, I'm kinda' close to that cutoff. I didn't really realize it until now, I have a 3.833 UMich GPA. Man, that sucks.

Nice to know the ninth is an official date. any idea when the app-received cutoff for that date is? probably not, i'm guessing it just depends.

I would think in-state cutoff might be around 27ish, OOS around 29-30ish, but then you have all that other good stuff to factor in. I wonder if they really do count GPA for more (I hope so! I have a 3.96 UM GPA but a 29 ACT OOS...ahhh!). gl to all :)

also, if i sent in a resume, attached with an additional short note at the end, will they actually read it lol? i didn't really fill in the regular activities section bc i needed to explain some of them, so i put "see attached" in the space below it. then i listed about 10-ish things that i did and explained them in 2-3 sentences, mainly listing leadership positions and awards (in the extra info section). they do look at that, right? not that it matters now, cuz it's already in, but just want reassurance, or the truth. that would be nice too :)

28 ACT and a 3.8 is not that high for UM standards...especially for an OOS student. 28 and 3.8 is reason to be rejected outright in state, especially considering that UMICH is fairly numbers-driven

1MX,

I kinda' find it hard to believe that they'd "outright reject" you with those scores, especially instate.

I don't know what 1MX has been looking at... but outright rejecting students with a 28 and 3.8 is ridiculous. Its already been posted that someone got in ER with a 27, and I highly doubt that the average ACT is over a 28, maybe 29. Stop making other people freak about that they're not going to get in.

I applied ER with a 29 ACT, 1950 SAT. 650 UH, 640 Span, Took Lit in Nov. Have about a 3.9-4.0 UMICH GPA, with a 4.0 at CC with 18 credits. I think I will get in even though i'm OOS, I am one of the Hilary Cinton's campaign associates for the west coast, and interned over the summer for my congresswoman in DC. I also won the largest student film festival in teh country for a documentary on feminism.

I think i'm good to go.

i got a question..
i think I read about rush score delivery is not accepted in U of michigan
(i hope im wrong...cause dats what i did....Gee..)
