I did do so well in high school and got a C in first semester Chemistry, and D in second semester. I have to take General Chemistry, and I'm wondering should I take Intro to Chemistry first? I am willing to put in the time for General Chemistry.

I've talked to some students who say the material is basically the same, Gen Chem is just more scoped in.

So what's your take?

If you think you can handle it, you can go straight into General Chemistry. It’s just a review of intro chemistry at the beginning with new concepts toward the middle of the course to the end. Just know the class is not going to wait for you if you fall behind and catching up in Chemistry is extremely hard. General Chemistry isn’t very hard at all if you take the time to study it and practice the problems–and by practicing I mean doing A LOT of practice problems. If you’re a slow learner take the intro class. If you think you can handle the material being thrown at you and have it be expected for you know it, then take General Chemistry.

Just a tip. UNDERSTAND the concepts Don’t just follow the steps in your textbook. Know why those steps need to be taken.

Yeah I messed up on registering for a Physics class. I thought I should just take it to get ready for the upper level Physics, but after a talk with the professor he recommended I go straight to Calculus based physics.

Now I’m scrambling to find a Chem class.
