I’m actually in the same situation jcm718. The one school that I was waitlisted for is Hofstra. I was only waitlisted there because they didnt make a decision on me until March…even though I applied in November.

JCM I’m in the same situation as well. If you check out my thread you’ll see that all the schools that are “good” that I applied to have rejected me and Fordham waitlisted me, I’m waiting on Syracuse as a last resort. I really want to attend this school too.

For me it pretty much sucks though. I mean, congrats on plenty of acceptances. Me on the other hand, it’s Syracuse or bust. Nowhere else to go from here. I only get worried because if I keep waiting only to hear bad news, where do I go? I have to apply to a new school I never had intentions of going to in the first place, and hope that I get in.

Applied in November.

It’s now April 6th.

Nothing.

jcm + bigtalker, HAVE FAITH! I hope all will work out, but positive thinking goes a long way. Believe me, I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. Applied to six schools, and come March, I watched as a string of rejections rolled in. It’s annoying especially, for the schools that you feel you put the most work on your essay and only to be rejected…it’s so finite. Out of the five that I’ve received, I got rejected to two, waitlisted to one, and accepted to two. I found out my first choice recently, but before then I thought I was honestly going to have no choice over where I went. But, good things happen to those who wait. I hope this holds true on your ends :)

Thanks for the positive words of advice inconspicuous.s.n. I got into Lasalle, I’m on the waitlist for Hofstra, and I wrote a damn good appeal to Syracuse. I hope things turn out well. I also need pretty good financial aid, and I’m not sure if Hofstra or Syracuse will give it to me.

After receiving my financial aid reward along with my scholarship, it seems Hofstra is a little more stingier compared to Pace and other comparable Tier 3 colleges. If Pace is still accepting applications, put it in, they were quite generous. I’m waiting for my financial aid award from a few universities still, I only got some scholarships with my acceptance letters from Hofstra and other comparable Universities.

UGH…I had that feeling about Hofstra…how much do they want you to pay a year? I meant I can’t afford to pay any more than 10k…I wonder if that is possible.

Your situation might be more unique than mine, so it is possible. I know I won’t be going to Hofstra so if I could, I would definitely have given you my seat.

I just received a waitlist letter from Syracuse, it’s making me so upset I thought I was adequately qualified to study at Syracuse, my GPA was a little flawed but with internships, Rugby, Community Service, 29 ACT, and 3 recommendations I thought I would get in. I cannot begin to phantom the words to describe this anguish.

uhm so at this point are there any spots left in the freshman class. it seems so late to me and it seems unlikely anyone else is going to be accepted

Thanks for the help asalahuddin

Another Friday, another nothing.

Keep me waiting Syracuse!

your probably going to get waitlisted.

So I went to the open house today, and while the campus itself is nice, the surrounding city is dismal and depressing. I found the students to be very sullen and unfriendly compared to other universities that I have visited. Is it just me? I wanted to like this school so much, but you have to really work to find this place exciting. I know it is a great education, but I was hoping it wouldn’t be so much work to just be there. And why doesn’t anyone on this campus ever smile. People seem so much happier at other schools.

no mail from syracuse.

:(

well atleast they haven’t rejected me.

X(

any architecture transfers got their letters yet?

To Donna54

My d was there yesterday and had the exact opposite reaction. She absolutely loved the day, the campus and the kids (accepted to Newhouse w/scholarship). Went a day early and was taken around by kids, out to lunch, dinner, a concert. Housing much better than a lot of other schools. Faculty was very helpful. Only disadvantage is weather for a west coast person. But weather this week was beautiful.

Are there still people who haven’t heard? my app was in back in December. I am a transfer student, but I am supposed to respond to schools by May first.

My son had his app in late,March 1st 2010 and interview 3/8 however due to mixups with transcripts they didnt get them till now. He’s a Architecture transfer student. However he has a myslice id with a folder for acceptance letter but no acceptance letter in the folder. Confused we are…and a financial letter with a congrats but again no acceptance letter in the folder. So, he wants to know is it pushy to call. BTW when we visited SU it was like night and day from where hes going now. Everyone was all smiles, happy happy and the students where encouraged to talk with you and tell you how great it is there, however the beggars/grifters on campus where kinda scary…

It’s not pushy to call.

Don’t worry too much about the acceptance letter not popping up in My Slice. My son (who will be a grad student at Syracuse in the fall) has received email confirmation from his department head about his acceptance, yet the acceptance letter doesn’t pop up in his My Slice account.

I can’t believe i still haven’t recieved anything hahahaha

RIDICULOUS.
