Other than transfer applicants, who hasn't heard from Bing yet? They seem to be accepting and rejecting little by little, based on how kids at my school are being notified...

I haven’t heard back either it seems like the kids who got deferred hear back last, i’m not expecting to get accepting but i wish they would just let us know already.

i havent hear anything either, i am just gonna call them next week to see what’s up

Lol still no word. But I got into my top school so I’m not holding my breath

Bing is my top choice in-state. I got into my two top choices out of state. Of course, there is a huge difference in tuition, so it will definitely have an impact on my decision if I get in. I wished they’d just tell us one way or the other already!

I haven’t heard anything yet either, but I know two friends that have… Other than that, the only people I know were people that applied early action. What is the likelihood that something went wrong with my application?

@xseniorx For now I’d assume nothing went wrong with your application. At least at my school, some kids have heard, but a lot of kids haven’t heard yet either. So I think they’re just taking a really long time to inform everyone. I’m trying to figure out if there’s any kind of pattern-like have they informed all the rejected people already? all the RD people from particular schools?-but I dont really discern much of anything from the limited info I have. Yeah, I’m obsessing, which happens when I have to wait…

@whichwillitbe I haven’t known of anyone that was rejected from Binghamton, but maybe they just haven’t told me? both are possible.

@xseniorx a friend of mine was rejected from Bing after being deferred to RD. He was notified last week.

I have also heard that some people were rejected last week.

@whichwillitbe I just meant that maybe it was my school? I have a handful of friends that applied, but only one received her letter. I also applied to Stony Brook, but they sent it to me mid february. :/

When I called on behalf of DS, I was told admission letters are going out April 1. So I think it’s just a waiting game at this time.

Going out or by april 1st?? I cant wait any longer

Probably mailed by 4/1, if they’re following the same model as for early action notification. I don’t know what that means in terms of email notification though. I didn’t hear of any EA people getting email notification of acceptance/rejection, but the RD people have been receiving email notification, in dribs and drabs.

I have yet to hear from Bing, but I called their admissions office and was told that letters would be sent this Monday all the way to April 1st. So it is indeed a waiting game now. Be patient and hope for the best mates.

If I heard correctly, having not heard back is a good thing because if you’ve been rejected all you get is an e-mail. E-mails of course take seconds to send, unlike snail mails which are all sent together and take 1-2 days. So I’m hoping for the best, good luck everyone!

@ravidrim: thanks for that info!
@number41x: I hope you’re right!

I’m going with the “assume the worst” strategy so that I won’t be too disappointed if I’m rejected.

By the way, this was Bing’s email response to an email I sent about two weeks ago asking about when and how deferred to regular consideration applicants would be notified:

“Accepted students will receive an email as well as a paper copy of admission in the mail. Students that have been denied admission will receive an email.”

So really,we’re waiting for an email either way.

I was accepted via Mail, and still havent recieved an email a week and a half later.

@DLeggio: that is amazing. bing seems to have like six different notification procedures! bing is different from every other school I applied to. All the other ones notified everyone at the same time, in the same way.
