I play piano! ^^
I started playing when I was 18…and well, I’m still 18. I’ve been playing for only 9 months hehe

Definitely not as advanced as you guys, but I will get there some day.
Never too late late to learn! :)

I love piano so much <3

I’ve been playing since I was 8. I was disqualified from CM level 7 last year (LOL) so I can no longer participate in it. But I still take lessons and I love it. I also teach five elementary schoolers.

i’m back from japan yayy. wow i got a lot of posts to read .___.

wow i’m only in level 5 ; ~ ;. but i still self-teach myself level 6 and above stuff for fun lol xD

then again, i did just start this year.

I’ve been playing since I was six, and have been (more or less) for 8 years now. My progress is pretty…slow though, since I’m not much of an enthusiast and barely ever log in 30+ minutes a day.

Makes me shiver to think of what could have happened if I had a Tiger Mom.

I am Asian and I can’t even read notes. I used to play when I was little (my mom taught me), but then I got lazy and forgot everything.

@alwaysleah… wow why did you get disqualified o_0?

@cchanged… well can you play by ear possibly I always do that

I’ve played piano since I was about 8, but since then I’ve stopped taking lessons. While taking lessons, I didn’t like to play piano, but now I like it a lot. I can only play one piece well (Fur Elise), and can also play Moonlight Sonata (haven’t fully memorized it yet) and the first part of Turca Alla Rondo. I really like classical music, and it’s pretty much all I listen to. Chopin’s piano music is simply outstanding, but unfortunately it is nearly impossible to play . My favorite pianist that I’ve heard on Youtube is probably Horowitz.

The gist of it is that my teacher neglected to mention that you can’t bring photocopies. This was my first year playing something that wasn’t by memory (you play like 3 from memory and 1 you can have music). So I naturally photocopied my book so that I could use it and the proctor could follow along. Apparently I was supposed to buy a second book -_-

I said I would do it without the music but she disqualified me immediately for having a photocopy.

Ooh, I love Chopin! Is it really that difficult to play?

I play the piano too! I consider myself only intermediate though (not beginner, but definitely not expert either). However my piano is now collecting dust at the moment.

I’m Asian as well. c:

I’m learning to play Kiss the Rain right now (it’s pretty easy, haha).

What are you guys learning to play?

@pinksparkles223
It depends on the piece. Some, such as the grande valse brillante op. 34 no. 2 are quite easy (for those that have playing for a few years), while others are much more difficult (I’m having a really hard time trying to play his etude op. 25 no 12. at full speed - and there’s harder ones).

@aldfig0: The only non-arranged piece I have by Chopin is Fantaisie-Impromptu (Op. 66). Have you ever tried to play that? I’ve been passively trying to play the first five measures of the piece correctly for about 4 months and haven’t been able to do it. Sextuplets paired with sixteenth notes just don’t work out for me.

I’ve only played the first few measures (haven’t bothered to learn the entire thing, maybe someday), and I don’t have a problem with the timing (though it is a problem for some other pieces). Maybe it’s because I’ve listened to it so many times.

Been playing since I was, eh, idk, 9? 10? Played for a straight year, stopped, picked up again around 11/12 and played for a solid year and a half, stopped, picked up again at 13 and am now 15. So four/five years total.

Sonatina in G Major by Beethoven is the one I’ve most loved to play to date. The first movement is my favorite part. :D

@alwaysleah nooo that sucks D: never as in just for awhile or permanently? gawd so strict i swear .____. haha psh there’s other piano programs, try doing others LOLOL.

@Duckyy haha im like intermediate as well…

I have so much to learn actually. But I have so little time b/c of ap hw, sat, act, an internship, driver’s ed, and college apps…

I’m trying to learn Elfin Lied, Angel Beats, Kimi Ni Todoke, and more anime music.

They said I had to repeat level 7 again the next year. But I’m around level 9 now and I really didn’t want to bother with an examination for something I’m two levels past. Ugh.

Well at least you moved on :D. haha oh well, it’s just an exam anyways, at least you have skills in piano. xD ~

I’m not taking an exam until senior year, around May. How’s the exam like anyways, i’m a bit anxious?

I’ve played since I was 5, and I’m currently playing moonlight sonata! Fave song ive ever played is Clair de lune a few years ago

Everyone started so young o_0…i’m the only one in here that started when I was like 12 xD
