And what are you doing about it?

well most of us here are pretty gung-ho considering we have been admitted, accepted the offer, and all of that other stuff that you do before you attend which leaves me guessing that you are a junior/soon to be senior that is looking into it...

Visit in october and apply EA...dont forget the on campus interview

Im very gung-ho. Can't wait to move to IL. CA gets extremely boring after 10+ years.

me...considering I got done my UC app in two days and got to apply to four schools with that one app...the Chicago app took about a month (not one month of whole working days....but thinking, mailing, calling, dealing with the imcompetent College Board people...thinking). Also considering I had to turn down a full ride at UCLA (ouch, that hurted)

i turned down the same UCLA offer. Brought tears to my mother's eyes.

Ha, ha--since my mother wasn't paying for anything, the only person crying was me. And now I hear from a friend who accepted the offer--she has her own studio apt, own parking space right next to her apt(this is in LA remember), plus another 2500 from the alumni commitee! How much money did Chicago give you when you applied for aid (if you did)? Do you know if they get more/less/same generous as the years go by?

I imagine less generous, and i have no idea what the actual figure was. Just remember that it was not enough. UCLA is nothing like UC, of course. its worth it.

I know what your saying about turning down serious money to go to Chicago. I turned down full tuition to CWRU because my dad works there and the Presidential Scholarship at Brandeis for 20K a year. Eh, they did give me some, 13K, so things could be worse.
However, aside from the monetary horror, I'm definately psyched about going.
