Just wondering about who is very likely to go to Harvard this fall??

i'm pretty sure i'll be going, but not 100% sure yet!

there's still quite a bit of time left to decide... :)

same

M_c no yale for you either? haha suprisingly i wasnt sad. i wsa just liek eh thats that.

harvard is good ...i mean excellent. so helloo class of 2010!

I just ought to get over my "Yale factor" and I am officially in the club.

jennyx06: nope, no yale for me either :)

it really sucked getting rejected after being deferred EA though cause i'd been waiting for SO long.. but after i was accepted to harvard+brown i kind of forgot why i wanted to go to yale so badly in the first place. so i guess the rejection was pretty much a blessing in disguise. too bad. i look good in blue. :p

Right now I think Harvard is beating out Princeton and Yale.

Harvard gave me about 4K more for money.

I am going if I can convince my parents to pass up merit money at Rice.

I'm going! Well, I didn't get into Princeton... but Harvard will have to do. =) woohoo Harvard class of 2010

50% chance... If I can't afford NYU Tisch I'm going.

Unless USC's School of Cinema-TV throws me a curveball (aka accepts me), then I'll be really confused!

*By the way, is there anyone who ISN'T going to the April 22-24 visit? I don't know if I can...

tawny, i'm not. i live overseas and i have IB exams coming up the week after!

You guys can always set up a visit on another weekend (or during the week... whatever). Just send the admissions office an email, and they can set you up with a host.

I am in ninth grade and wondering what you put on your application to ensure you get into Harvard.

There is absolutely nothing you can do to garuntee admission (unless you cure cancer or win the nobel prize or something). the best thing you can do is work hard, take challenging classes, get good grades, score well on the SATs, and come through as a genuine, passionate person. They will not like it if they think you are doing work or engaging in extracurriculars just to build your resume - you should involve yourself in things you are passionate about and truly interested in - and then write unique and sincere essays about your experiences. good luck!

If such a thing existed... hah....

I feel like a lot of the people that got in weren't prepping from ninth grade with a Harvard-or-bust mentality. I think a lot of them took hard courses for themselves, had passions they (gasp) actually cared about, and did extracurriculars that were fun to them. Colleges will be able to tell if you're interested in something or just beefing up your resume.

I got into Harvard EA for the class of 2008, and I didn't even know most of the hoops you guys jump through existed. I just worked hard academically and did lots of fun stuff outside. I'm not saying I'd've got in 9 years out of 10 but clearly they thought I was ok.

Work hard, be determined, be open minded. All you need really I think.

im going, i just got back from cambridge, just confirmed my decision..cant wait to be there fall 2006...

i had lunch with my Harvard interviewer (she's awesome), and I'm 80-20 to go where I was kinda leaning toward LAC.

i'm definitely going! see you all at prefrosh weekend! and if not then, then i'll see you in the fall!! :)

I'm definitely going too!! harvard 2010 =D

Haha, my situation is the reverse (Yale, no Harvard). I agree with you about the blessing in disguise thing ... and I look good in red. facepalm
