Ohio State? Michigan? UChicago?[uproarious laughter]

Wikipedia lists the U of Illinois as one of our rivals:

Purdue.....

We don't have an official rival I don't think. Football vs. Umich and Wisconsin this past year was pretty intense. I guess U of I too.

I must say the University of Chicago.

i think Oxford University is the chief rival. Either that or Whittenburg univ. in germany. We have some intense chess matches against them.

I would have to say Southeastern would be our rival.

hahahahahahhahaa

The University of Chicago is your rival, to be sure. As they say here in Hyde Park, "It is better here than Evanston."

Funny thing this is the case, though, as the schools are polar opposites.

the university of nc chapel hill and duke university are grossly dissimilar as well- basketball maintains that rivalry, however. the same is true for Michigan/Ohio St. in football, Rice (ivy-ish)/Texas(biggest school in america) in baseball, heck, even Georgia (party school USA)/Brigham Young University (most religious school USA) in golf. There are lots of different things that can stem into a pure rivalry, even in schools that may be 'polar opposites.'

UofC and NU are rivals because of close proximity and academic supremecy in designated realms. that is enough for a rivalry, regardless of being better in different fields and studies, different socially, athletically, structurally, etc etc.

But the important thing to remember is that, all considered, NU > UofC. hahahah just pokin some fun katharos.

In the applicant pool it is Uchicago and Rice.

yea, i have to second rice and u of c

i agreee, i got admitted to all 3 last year.....they share very similar students
