Who wants to go to Berkeley and has actually visited the place before?

UCB is of course one of the best school in the nation in term of academic. BUT I often hear bad things about social life + competition and blah blah blah…so even though I live quite close I never visit the school
Somehow one day I end up visiting UCB…and it’s truly amazing !!! Go there to get the feel
I love UCLA…hope to visit it soon to compare to UCB …lol

I’ve been there like 20 times now and I absolutely loooove itt. I really only want to go to Berkeley, even if i don’t get in this year i might take another year and apply again. I live close to ucla so i visit there sometimes but ive never liked it as much as berkeley. Not even comparable for me.

I’ve been to UCB, UCLA and UCSB, and out of the three Santa Barbara has the nicest cleanest prettiest campus of all. However, Cal has the best vibe HANDS DOWN. The town around it, the shops, the people, even the homeless, give at really interesting and unique environment. Plus, academically it’s near impossible to beat. UCLA is nice too ofcourse, but the area around the school is not as…fun.

I applied to all three but Cal is BY FAR my top choice. If I get in I don’t really care what happens next. I LOVE IT…soooo coool!!! The library is gorgeous! the tower is incredible. It’s just a great experience. Besides, SF is so WAY cooler than LA. hehe…

i want to go to UCB but only because of academics, along with the fact that i already live in NorCal. i am not very fond if the city; a large percentage of the population consists of far-left liberals and the crime that area (well, the area that a working college student can afford to live in) can get pretty bad. Sure, there is a diverse crowd, but it also tends to get crowded. The amalgam of stores is nice, but its not really a place you want to be next to all the time, unless you like the city environment; its more like a place to visit on the weekends, where you can go out with a bunch of friends, shop, eat, get something pierced…etc. The campus is decent but is an eyesore when compared to UCSD, which has a beautiful, well maintained, easy-on-the-eyes campus (La Jolla is also a very safe city, especially considering its size; if only UCSD’s academic profile was better…)

i know i’m bashing Berkeley a bit, but all-in-all its not a horrible place; it just does not seem to house one of the best (if not the best) public schools in the nation.
