April 10 is the first "All Roads Lead to Oberlin" highlight day for acceptees. My daughter wants her entire family with her, so we're all going. We're driving but staying in North Olmstead near the Cleveland Airport where the more decent hotels are located. Oberlin Inn has tiny rooms (we stayed there last summer on our scouting visit) and some surrounding cheap motels reek of cigarette smoke and unidentifiable odors.

We'll be at the registration on Friday morning including the resource fair at the same location. Then my daughter will sit in on one or two classes while the rest of us explore the campus, especially the art museum which we did not get to see last summer.

Are any other CC'ers going to be there on Friday?

I’m gonna be there April 9th, 10th, and 11th for the Multicultural Visit Program :D

cool thing on Friday:
Jazz forum- noon
Spring Back Dance Concert – 8:00, Warner Gym
Coffeehouse! (Open Mic )-- 9:00 Third World House

quibbler: Thanks for the info. We’ll try to make the Coffeehouse.

goldenratiophi: My D2 was offered the MVP visit but declined. She wanted to visit with her family instead.

^ Ah, that’s understandable. I’ve already visited with my family, so I’m excited to spend some time on campus independently :D

^^^

I’m sure we’ll all cross paths on Friday. :)

Goldenratiophi–I’ll also be there for the April 9-11 multicultural event. It should be pretty cool to meet a fellow CCer in person!

^ gasp When/where/how shall we meet? And how will we know each other?

Look for people in the dining hall at lunch time. Ask people to raise their hands if they post on CC. :)

For the future: we always found the motels in Elyria to be perfectly adequate, and they are a short drive to Oberlin. Elyria malls & big box stores may also be a place to go for various supplies, should you attend.

Have a nice visit !

I’d consider that, monydad, but, as a result of business travel, I’ve accumulated a lot of Marriott rewards points. So we’re staying two nights, free of charge, in a nice Marriott. We’ll drive the 30 minutes from the hotel into Oberlin.
