I am :)

10 char

I am

I envy you people and your geographical advantages...

Haha, for once, being from Missouri is a good thing!

we could all be classmates next fall...
how cool is that?! :)

have either of you guys done overnights yet?

No, and I don't think that I'll get to :(
Maine is awfully far away, and my mom actually doesn't want to deal with me having to visit.
It's sad though, because I'd really like to get to experience the atmosphere of Bowdoin.

I'm actually surprised that more haven't posted about applying early....perhaps the pool is smaller this year??

I visited and was goiing to do an overnight but it was too short notice and we couldnt work it out. But i spent a good two days around Brunswick and Bowdoin and really liked it a lot.
I wanted to go back again...but from Boise, it takes a pretty dang long time to get to Bowdoin. not to mention it is expensive as heck

I think because of the financial meltdown, there is going to be a decrease in applications as a whole this year(all private school) and an increase at state schools....
this site though is almost dedicated to Ivies. they have by far the most posts and are what the people on here talk about.
i guess it is a bit surprising that there arent many at all applying early on here....but not that surprising considering the people on here are VERY VERY prestige and name driven. even though Bowdoin is the shiz....it doesnt have the same name thing that harvad does.....who cares though...my favorite school by far

i dont think the financial hullabaloo is going to affect apps to Bowdoin that much. they match a family's demonstrated need 100% so like if your parents both are unemployed and you get in they'll pay your way

I'm applying early, but round 2.

Yeah, I'm not sure how the financial situation will affect college admissions. On one hand, I kind of hope it makes the pool smaller, but on the other hand I'm not so sure it will.

And let's be honest, Bowdoin has name recognition, but not as much as the other big ones out there. Not that that really matters, though.

actually, the early decision apps are up 10%, which was a big shock since most admissions officers thought it would be considerably down...

I wish I could, my mother doesn't really want me to go to Bowdoin though and I may not get the financial aid offer I need (which will basically be everything since my Mom's now making minimum wage + child support) so I did regular decision (even though I still plan on going to Bowdoin)

How much of an advantage is being a skiing recruit? If I'm applying ED?

EDII here. Couldn't get the app in on time for EDI. I wish I had, though. I'm so jealous of you people who hear back in a few days.

Yeah I had to apply EDII as well. I don't know if I can wait that long!!! I'm jealous of you guys who get to visit though. It's completely impossible for me.
I really hope they will still meet my financial need, with all the economic problems of the country right now. My mom gets a disability check, and my dad has no contact with me and does not pay child support. I have a job and pay for all my own stuff. Together we make barely 10,000 a year so...
