Jemmayale- I don’t mean to be too forward, but would your friend consider taking a look at my essay, as well (upon its completion?)

East89, no prob. Ill tell her tonight. Though keep in mind she has school work and stuff but usually next day she already has an answer.

i’d take a look at anyone’s essays if they want. i’m done with 2 of them. 2 more to go, but i know what i’m going to talk about in the others. but seriously, you can send them to me, i’ll read them and edit them for you.

I am currently trying to figure out the personal quote for CAS essay. Im between History will be kind to me for I intend to write it, or Be the change you wish to see in the world. I dunno.

the latter is definitely one that they see over and over. can you pick a different quote that maybe gets around to the same point?

there is one by Thomas Paine: The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion. I feel this quote actually expresses more of what I am about. However, I fear that it may sound to Miss America, end world hunger and have world peace.

hahahahha jemmayale ur comment makes me laugh so hard…end hunger and world peace !

hmm i have a question now… to anyone who got deferred like i did, what do i do now? because they said we didn’t have to reapply if our grades were above a 3.3, but what if they arent? because the application period is only this month and they havent contacted me about anything?

im confused a little… i guess i should wait it out?

hi from cornell!

brandnew, you’ll have to get that 3.3 and at least a B in every class, but if i recall correctly, you’re only taking 2 or 3 classes which means you actually need at least a B+ in every class because all Bs will give you a 3.0. i know someone personally who lost their GT because they didn’t meet those grade requirements. they’ll probably ask you for midterm grades and then you’ll have to send in a final transcript to make sure all’s good.

Brandnew…I have to send in the GT application for Humec. Do you do the same for ILR?
I took all but 1 course this summer & am assuming that they’ll probably base our fall semester grades on our midterm report. Don’t worry, we’ll be there together!!
You, Ironically and I are going to visit CU this Fall!!

Thanks a lot ironic and Jemmayale. I realize that your friend may be busy, so if she’s not available for help, then I completely understand. The offer for assistance is still greatly appreciated.

i havent gotten anything to send in anything? i guess i’ll send my stats syllabus to Ian as a conversation starter and ask for more info about everything. ehhhh haha but if i dont meet requirements, does that mean that im put in the next fall pool rather than this spring’s?

I think I need to change my username lol I feel like a traitor among this walls.
Anywayz until I do that everybody can simply call me Jemma
Now onto the topic…

East89- She told me that she will read it no problem. If anything, if she can read it for x or y reason, I am sure any of us will love to help

Ziiamkyz- lol well don’t you agree? It does sound to beauty pageant-ish. haha

so i know that jemma and iron are willing to read over the essays and revise them rite???..how can i send mine?? lol i have them in .doc and i don’t know how to attach my essays when i pm u guys

Brandnew…ask Ian the name of your Registrar Director in ILR. Before taking any required courses, I had to send course descriptions to Tracey Thompson, Reg Dirct 4 Humec. He approved the course(s) before I registered for them. Good Luck…let me know what happens. :)

I just found this information on the CU website, I hope it helps…

molly, youre a doll! thank you!

Exactly how many words would be considered too many for the personal essay regarding why you want to transfer (not the supplement)?

i was about a page, single spaced… i was too afraid to write too much and begin to ramble so i tried to keep it short and concise. but i believe the personal was 250 min, 500 max?

wait, wait, wait 500 max? Where did you hear such blasphemy?

Yes it is 500 max. Look it up.
