for fall it was at noon on the last day

Just submitted my app =)

Now just the midterm report and a few minor mailings… jeez, it’s been a long road. I really worked my butt off on the essays though. I hope it pays off.

Hope to see you all at Cornell!

yep, totally!!

Well I finally got all of my forms sorted out and my app will be submitted after class tomorrow.

I don’t even care about the waiting period, I just really want to get the application process over with.

BTW, I’m not required to do the interview prior to the 1st, am I? If so, It’s over for me :(

glad to see others are sending their stuff tomorrow! I thought I was the only one

yep, I sent in everything about 2 1/2 weeks ago. and my midterm 3 days ago.

Submitted my app this past weekend, finishing up my supplement/payments now! I should have my midterm grades in in two weeks, but Cathy knows that since my community college started so late.

Now I just have to grab that official’s form from my dean and I’m all set. Who’s pumped!?

I really hope having been accepted for Fall helps my chances. I was really surprised that since I got in for regular admissions, why couldn’t I get a GT or just be deferred until spring? It’s weird I had to reapply and everything, but I’m sure Cornell has their reasons, and I’m confident with my chances.

Join the Facebook group if you haven’t, guys! It’d be great to meet everyone before hand.

<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook;

yeah true that. i’m super excited, i just requested all my transcripts be sent out from my school and my transfer supplement is in my car, needing a stamp haha but other than that, its all set.

and yeah moll, it was the same thing :P

sooo pumped!!! good luck everyone! especially you Viola, i really hope to see you in the spring <3 <3

oh and yeah, everyone join the facebook group!

How would you guys rate your LOR’s out of 10? Specifically for the instructor. I had my economics teacher write me one but he barley knew who I was when I walked through the door.To be honest I am fairly disappointed as I feel a weak recommendation could get me rejected. How did you guys get teachers who barley knew you to write a stellar recommendation?

Also for the college officials report, my advisor was not able to fill out the evaluation part. Is this the case with you guys as well?

i’m sending out my midterm report and last-minute “additional info” things tomorrow, but then i’m done. got my appid a day or 2 ago. i’ll go crazy if i don’t get in this time :(

i think one of my LORs was probably 9/10 and the other 8/10, but i didn’t see them. just from talking with them and stuff i’m going to guess. and yeah, i had to send my official’s report to 3 different offices to get it filled out.

wateradept, why didn’t you go for fall??

also i was just on my self-service page and it says they received EVERYTHING from me. that’s not possible because i haven’t sent my transcript or midterm report yet. should i call and see why they’re marked off?

I had only one letter of rec, but I’m fairly sure it’s a 10/10. My official’s report had mostly N/A or “no basis for evaluation,” since I had never met a single person who was filling it out for me before.

ironicallyunsure, I’d probably do that, haha…Maybe they meant to check off someone else or something.

@TFN: The recommendation, just like the midterm grades, don’t have to be in right away if you need more time to either make an impression or otherwise. I remember my app and stuff went in way before my rec. (or rather, it was completed beforehand, I still got my rec. from my fall semester teacher when i applied for this fall since my spring ones i wouldnt have enough time to get to know.) I’d say mine was pretty good (8/10, he made me sound fantastic, haha). It was my Mass Communications teacher.

And yeah, my dean of admissions does my counselor’s form, since my community college doesn’t have counselors. He didn’t fill anything out in the evaluation form portion because he doesn’t really know anything about it. Didn’t affect my last application.

@ironically: I couldn’t go this fall because my parents couldn’t afford the family contribution, even with loans.
I was fine with all the debt on my shoulders, but they couldn’t let me graduate with $60,000+ of debt and still be in debt themselves. Plus my brother goes to college in a year…very messy.

Either way, I saved a ton just waiting one more semester. I’m hoping it’s rare for them to deny someone who’s already gotten in (especially since fall was a bigger applicant pool…I think?)

They should probably let everyone on CC in XD because we clearly want it more than the kids who aren’t asking questions and getting involved.

How is your app status looking? Coz mine says they’ve received common app and its supplement…that’s it. I sent all out a few weeks ago…should I check with Cornell about that?

waterdept, HErE, HERE!!

My LOR were actually grt. Not too sound too cocky or anything but my professor’s LOR was a 10/10 (He put in the 1% margin on a every single thing. It surprised actually because I would argue with him about ideologies and politics. I guess that helped lol) and my College LOR was filled by my Honors Program Coordinator, he gave a 9/10 LOR. Both of them let me read them first, before sending them. Im kind of freaked with my HP coordinator. He hasn’t answered my calls or my emails and I don’t know if he either made copies of the LOR or sent them. I hope he did, other wise he will be in trouble lol

@valvsu: if you’re talking about checking the app status when you log in using your appID, then they probably haven’t updated it yet. They have a ton of apps coming in and they’re probably sorting stuff. But if it worries you a bunch, call them, haha.

I received LOR from 3 professors, one of whom I’m taking another class with this semester.

My history professor (the one that I’m taking the course with now) really shocked me with his letter since he regarded me with such high esteem. He took the liberty of writing a letter instead of just filling out the portion for personal thoughts on the second page. I didn’t get to see what he checked off for the criteria listed on the first page, but I’m sure most, if not all, of the categories were within the top 1%. I made an A+ in his class the first time and I’m pretty sure I’m on pace to make that grade again since he’s given me extra credit on our essay quizzes because I write so much more than what is required and I made the highest grade in the class on the first test (A+.)

Another one was my english professor who I took freshmen year who loved my writing and said that he knew I’d eventually produce some great work, regardless of the field of work I explored. I have no clue how he ranked me but I’m sure he spoke pretty highly of me.

The third was an anthropology professor who I took a class with during the summer. We didn’t really talk much during the class initially but we really built up a rapport at the end. I even added her as a friend on facebook and talked to her about other anthropological works which interested me and asked her to recommend some books in the field. I believe I was the only one in the class to make an A+ (that may not sound hard, but she required that students must earn a grade of OVER 100 in the course in order to receive an A+. That meant that you’d have to perfect every aspect of your work in addition to getting the one or two bonus questions right.)

I e-mailed admissions today because I have a whole bunch of things unchecked too. He said that they have a slight backlog of materials and they should be processed by the end of this week or the beginning of the next, and that they’re going to send out reminders for materials they haven’t received in mid-October.

Cornell, please take me.

Same. I would rather be up at 1 am writing papers and studying than painting hundreds of different colored squares, which is what I am going to be doing tonight.

Most people here would call me crazy.
