^^^ It’s a possibility for me although I’d hate to spend the time and money to go to Ithica and then get rejected.

yayayayay transfer day! just called humec to see about human ecology transfer day and it’s the same weekend, which doesn’t surprise me.

also, i still haven’t sent that last grade for my midterm report, but it says my materials have been forwarded to the admissions committee for review! they have 5 out of 6 though… all As except 1 A- so maybe they’re just happy with that? haha i don’t know. maybe i’ll call humec again and ask.

Took my midterm, got a perfect score (17/17) though that’s not saying much seeing how I have a significant advantage over most of these students, plus the average was 14/17 lol.

But, now I can ask for my midterm grades. I’ve arranged meeting times with every single one of my professors. Yaayyy!

I would go, but I heard somewhere that CALS has no transfer day this year, otherwise I’d love to go to Ithaca for both Cornell and to see my boyfriend. Haha.

After speaking to Ian, I’ve come to realize that the midterm reports aren’t necessary for a decision. Or that’s what I think, anyway, after seeing that you all don’t have the reports in and they’ve still submitted them to the committee.

Probs. They probably just don’t want to see you failing your butt off in the middle of the semester, or for people missing prereqs, would like to see how you’re doing in those.
Still a good idea to get them in, though, so they can send you your decision lol. I’m happy that they’ve got a move on and have started reviewing apps, and might actually give us decisions in a timely fashion.
And for people who are teetering on the edge of rejection/acceptance, perhaps the midterm report is a final factor. But it’s probably not, they wouldn’t reject/accept someone merely based on whether they got an A/B in a class…unless they have tons of incredibly competitive applicants.
But I think we shouldn’t worry. My boyfriend pointed out to me that we are most likely at a higher standard than most other applicants, since we’ve taken the time to come here and freak out with each other =P.

my stuff got forwarded for review. weirdddddddddd

Ironically…what is the date for Transfer Day? Is it 1 day? If so, which day are u going?

i think we should all go to transfer day! im 100% planning on going now :]

Maybe some of us don’t live so close… AS IN SMELLY NEW JERSEY

I live in scorching hot Puerto Rico. Can’t go
that and theres no transfer day for CAS

Transfer Day is when!? I was told there wasn’t one this year…I was also told there was no CALS open house.

It’s in November, right?

humec and ILR are having them for sure, and i think brandnew, mollena, and i are going to go together. cals usually has one, so you should call and ask, water. and yeah, it’s nov 4 - 6.

I’ll have to see if I can attend. I’d like to, but I’m so busy during the week that my weekends are filled with hw time.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, so I guess I should ask. For those of you who live long distances away from Ithaca, do you plan to ship your stuff up there via UPS and fly up to Ithaca when move in day comes, or are you just going to drive up there with your stuff?

Also, Cornell does summer housing, right? Hopefully I can just take full course loads during the summer so I can finish sooner and not have to worry about moving all of my stuff down to Atlanta during the break.

I live in Southern California ^ also curious about this!

Yes, there is plenty of housing in Ithaca during the summer, both dorms and off campus apartments. Yes, most kids from more than a day’s drive ship UPS or Fedex Ground. Fly into Ithaca or Syracuse (generally cheaper). If parents going, could also fly nonstop from the left coast into EWR or PHL and drive ~4 hours. (PHL is actually a couple of miles closer and much less congested than EWR.)

I live in south georgia…but Transfer Day sounds it’d be fun

seems like transfer day and shipping stuff could be a hassle in the snow.

Question:

my financial aid check list still says I require a Federal Verification Worksheet, and a transfer transcript that is apparently due on 3/31/10? Anyone else have this, or know what this means?

^ I have no clue, but it says the same thing for me. It also says some of my stuff was due this past spring. It made no sense.

I highly doubt there’ll be any snow by transfer day. We’re having a mildly warm October, still in the 60s and looking to stay that way for the rest of the month (or so we think.)

But i just googled ‘cornell transfer day’ and all they have is one from last year. Unless you guys got those info packets in the mail already and it says there’s one, then you’re probably right. I was told there wasn’t going to be one this past summer.

I have not gotten any info packets in the mail, and my parents haven’t said anything either, though I’m not really sure if I trust them to remember lol…

Finaid is becoming a pain in the butt.

But I hope there’s a transfer day, although I wish it would be AFTER I’m told I’m accepted, so that I would have a legitimate excuse to run over to Cornell and miss a class or two.
