Who's applying to McGill for fall of 2018?

@rueece Decisions start to be released based on students’ origin. For US applicants they will start mid-December.

Students who are significantly above the minima will hear first.

I didn’t see before that one of the letters of recommendation had to be activity-based… I really just wanted to submit my two teacher recommendations :frowning: Now I have to ask just for one school.

@writergirl0316 What faculty are you applying to? I thought they don’t want letters of rec for most programs

@rueece, you need letters of rec to apply for the big entrance scholarships.

Hey guys, How’s everything going so far? Anybody applied/got accepted?

It’s about that time, isn’t it? My D submitted her application in September. She’s high stat: 34 ACT with 4.0 UW, applying to Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Arts and Sciences, so we are hoping to get a decision soon. Nothing yet.

I have a 3.6 UW GPA with an upward trend, and a 33 ACT. Applied to Faculty of Arts in September. What do you think my shots are?

“I have a 3.6 UW GPA with an upward trend, and a 33 ACT”

What is your UW GPA with freshman year taken out (ie, sophomore and junior year GPA)?

@DadTwoGirls around 3.54. Sophomore year was a 3.34 but junior year was a 3.8 and senior year first semester is on track to be a 3.7

On the website it says we can expect starting in mid-December, but many people started hearing back around this time last year. Anyone have any idea?

Here are my stats by the way:

ACT: 34
UW GPA: 3.95
W GPA: 5.19

Good luck to everyone!

I started a new decisions thread: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/mcgill-university/2036390-mcgill-decisions-class-of-2022-entering-2018-p1.html?new=1

Does it matter if someone submits their app early or late ? Like will submitting early give u a better chance If you don’t have straight A’s and 1550 sat lol

@Barekk No, it appears that results come out first for those way above all minima. If you are right at he minimum requirements you may not hear until April.

What about those who are above the minimum by a bunch . Like a 3.75 gpa and a 1420 SAT

Does it really matter how long the gap is between submitting your regular application and submitting your major undergraduate entrance scholarship application? Bc on the website it says “soon after” but I submitted mine two months apart

“What about those who are above the minimum by a bunch . Like a 3.75 gpa and a 1420 SAT”

Depending upon which program you are applying to, I am not sure whether 3.75 is above the minimum by a bunch. I do know two people with exactly 1420 on the SAT who were accepted, one a few years ago and one a few decades ago.

@DadTwoGirls im an international student and the minimum is a B+ average which is a 3.3 uw gpa , thats why i consider mine just above it but not that high either

Hey everyone! I applied to McGill last week for Arts&Science. Most, if not all, of my schools have received my SAT scores, but McGill hasn’t yet, and I’m kind of worried. Is it normal they’re not in yet? I sent them December 18th, so it’s been two weeks. Is anyone having the same problem?

@en2900 McGill, and most universities, have been closed for the past week and a half. They will not be processing anything.
