Who's going to "lesser tier" aka not mentioned often on CC- schools?

Everyone's been talking about those "topper tier" schools!
I don't think EVERYONE on CC has been accepted to Exeter, Andover, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, Choate, etc-- or decides to go there.

So who's going where?

Fountain Valley-- :)
HOGWARTS-- !!

Idk... If Milton counts as not so mentioned I MAY be going.

Hmm...probably Concord Academy.

I'm going to either NMH or Worcester.
I got into cushing, williston, and berkshire as well but i don't think i'm going to any of those.

I'm going to either Emma Willard or Putney...!!! :)

PEDDIE SCHOOL :D no one ever mentions it, its a really good school

Peddie or Emma Willard
can't decide.. what do you guys think?

I'm in at 3 HADES (HAE)

But also in at Groton and MX. MX isn't discussed too often. Occasionally, but usually we focus on HADES.

I would by far go to either Groton or Andover, benev. I, by act of god, got into all HADES and Milton. I wish I had applied to Thacher, Choate, and Groton... though.

^What grade were you applying for?

Freshman. I am currently a freshman but skipped a grade and started a year early. We decided two years below is too much in a bs environment

Groton is great, but it's so expensive. I'm a full pay. Andover, Exeter, and Hotchkiss are just as good, if not better than Groton.

I'd save like 40K if I choose Andover or Exeter. I just don't want to break my parents bank.

@principal- where are you revisiting. I don't see how you can count any of those schools out. They are far too good to decline admission to without at least visiting.

I personally am going to 5 revisit days...

I did not apply to Groton, is it really a lot more expensive?

There is NO WAY I can go to HADES and Milton revisit. I have, unfortunately, ruled out sps, deerfield, and possibly HK.

I should confirm this, but I think it was like 48K with all expenses added in.

A and E were around 40K

8-9K x 4 = 32-36K

Groton will probably increase its prices more than any other school during the 4 years I would be there

So in the end it would be like 40k. Like 4 years at UMASS, or like 1 year at a good college.

Have you really ruled out SPS, Deerfield, and Hotchkiss. If I were in your position I would rule out Milton and then revisit all HADES.

I, for some reason, loved Milton. HADES may be more regarded on this forum but in the world of college admissions just as well regarded (and looking at data, even better). I loved the courses and the campus.

Yeah, don't listen to me. I don't even know Milton. I don't think that it is even fair for me to make that statement.

And yeah, Milton has impressive college matriculation.

Thanks. Good luck with wherever you plan on going.

Out of your list, though it is totally your choice and my opinion should be equated with an intoxicated bard's stripper, I would go Andover.

I think I might be going to Peddie. Does the count as a somewhat lesser tier school? If I do go there, I'll be choosing it over Lawrenceville, though, so I don't really know if it is a lesser tier school. I told my mom it was in the 1.5 tier! lol

justbeingme

Haha -- I totally agree Peddie is Tier 1.5!

Doesn't have the history/pedigree of Tier 1, but IMO is definitely above Tier 2. I think you'd be making a good choice in Peddie -- Let us know how re-visits go

im most likely going to miss porters :D
its my top choice and its completely freee!!!! (2 merit scholarships + financial aid =D)
and thats definitely a second tier school..
i looked at andover and places like that but their music programs were...not the best...so i reallly like mps for that :)
