Who's going to take the AMC 10/12 in Feb 2009?

^ You're telling me you got a perfect score???!? W...t...f

Wait, we can't discuss scores until tomorrow evening at the earliest, so I'm going to shut up.

^***?? are you serious? dam..im just happy to qualify for AIME

Well you got a 145.5 last year (24 right, 1 blank) and there's only one possible score above that, so...

How do you guys know how you did already?

Are answers posted anywhere -- how do you know how you did already?

The answers will be posted at MAA American Mathematics Competitions - AMC

or Art of Problem Solving Forum

I asked my teacher to see the answers (today, no worries). They're part of the teachers packet. I think I got a 109.5 (16 right, 9 blank). Very happy.

This is embarrassing. I got my lowest score ever. And if you include my 8th grade AMC 10 score, but subtract 20 from it to compare it to AMC 12 scores, then this is by like 5 points too. Plus, I'm a senior.

First time taking it, I got a 100.5. I thought it was difficult, it was full of geometry problems (and I don't remember geometry from freshman year) and it didn't have any probability/combinatorics problems.

136.5 (22c, 3b)

Quite happy, considering 9th grade I scored 132 (21c, 4b) and 10th grade I only scored 97.5 (AIME cutoff just barely...). I was expecting to get a 63 from arithmetic sequence. Hopefully I qualify for USAMO finally.

Woah I am a good guesser, if my memory serves me correctly I got 15 right, 3 wrong and 7 guessed giving me a 100.5. Too bad its going to be a blood bath at the AIME for me.

Didn't even make 100 -_-

I guess there goes another irregularity with my application.

Yay, made up for last year's score =)

yay 102 ^-^ im so lucky! could i email my colleges and tell them this? and AIME? what's it like and when is it?

^ AIME is an amped up version of the AMCs - three hours for 15 questions. Your combined AMC and AIME scores will be the deciding factors for qualifying for USAMO.

Do well enough on the USAMO and off you are to the IMO.

An IMO gold medal could probably get you into any college of your choice.

if I got a 105 on the AMC 12 A, that would mean I need at least a 10 on the AIME. Is this possible, to study with one month left? Should I study really hard this month to attempt to get a 10? how hard would it be thanks

wait 15 right, 2 wrong, and 8 blank is a 102 right?

If you're only barely passing the AMC, you have basically no shot at a 10 on the AIME. The average score is something like a 2.

Right answer = 6 pts
wrong answer = 0 pts
blank = 1.5 pts

You do the math.

What's the difference between the A/B (like AMC 10A/B)?

Different category altogether, same version (although different tests) but two different test dates, or..?
