I'm taking the exam! Yeah AoPS 1 and 2 basically prep books for the AMC, the same guys that make the books also run a pretty good math forum here: Art of Problem Solving Forum

Yeah using AoPS I right now, the problems on there are 10x harder than anything on the AMC 12, but the AMC is still hard. Hopefully I get a 100+ but I know I will be destroyed by the AIME.

Yep I'm using AoPS Volume I. Hoping to get 100+ ...please! Haha..even if I do get it, I'll prob just get screwed for the AIME. I usually get the first 12 questions right or so..but then I just mess up. It gets so hard, I don't get how there are so many people who get such high scores.

^ Umm yea...I was just curious- how do you even attempt to solve those ridiculously hard math word problems, with so many different ways of being solved? What is your problem solving strategy? How do you start, and where? And what do you study, specifically in the AoPS books? I study them, but my mind still doesn't have that AMC 12 problem feeling..if you know what I mean..

Uhh I would guess that anyone who does well on these types of competitions
A) Did a crapload of problems spread out over a long period of time
and/or
B) Is a genius

One quick question: what's the difference between test date A and B? Can you pick whichever one you want?

Well, to be honest, I didn't really prep for the AMC or any of the math contests I participate in, for that matter. Just review your basic problem solving skills and maybe look into AoPS 1 and 2 for AMC and AMIE prep...(I did them in 6th-7th grade and I can assure you that they are great books)
