<p>For all those that have decided, get your rochester e-mail address If you havent already and register at thefacebook.com. That's the place where you can chat with current students, look up who's going in '05, see the faces of people who are going, etc.</p>

<p>You get your Student ID that you should have already, call the ITS up, and they'll give it to you. Then you go onto the ITS site and activate it.</p>

Im jake--for the past month (since i was accepted) ive been trying to log into rochester's forum on their website--as a matter of fact, that may have been the reason i sent in the deposit--but i recently found out i dont get my admissions packet untill may, so searching the web i found this one and here i am.

<p>Jake...Hey My names Shoshana....you can log into the rochester 2009 forum if you make your net ID...but to make your net ID you have to have your student ID which I think they sent when they got part one of your app...or you can call and get it...go to rochester.edu/2009 and then click on activate your net ID..and you can also get your rochester email address there</p>
<p>hi, yea i did all that, but when i went to register so that i could post it asked me not only for my student id (which by that point i had gotten by calling the because i DID NOT get it in the acceptance letter) but they wanted by birthdate. when i gave it to them it said that i had an id but was not yet in the database.
So...to make a lone story less long...i called them back and they said i had to wait a few days and theyd put me in, so far nothing.
what ever, not i found this forum so its all good.

<p>Apparently it wasn't an isolated incident. I'll save you a lot of trouble-- this is what finally got me the netid and e-mail address:</p>
<p>Forget calling them; they refer you to too many people and none of them know how to fix it. E-mail (calling didn't work for me) the ITS department and tell them your situation. I got an e-mail back within a few hours informing me that everything had been fixed.</p>

<p>99% chance that I'm going. I got wait listed at Tufts and I'm not gonna be naive and have my hopes up, although I have tried as hard as I can to show interest in the school. Anyways, my deposit is going to U of R which is still a great fit for me! And yea, facebook is awesome, many of my friends have showed me that site after they got into college last year!</p>
