I feel like I'm in the middle of CC...I might fit in the upper part of this thread/lower part of the big people CC threads; I have a 30 ACT w/12 writing and a 3.9 GPA UW, BUT my SAT IIs and APs suck...bad! I have one upper 600 and one lower 700...and not a single "pass grade" on my 4 AP tests! However, I do have the toughest course schedule...and tons of ECs...I'm so stuck in the middle!!!

you can stay but you're on probation. it's okay, i got a 580 on math IC. i was so dumb to take it soph year..and i'm bad at math. i don't think you're in the middle though, maybe upper middle.

probation! my 5something was lower than yours! I'm trying to avoid schools that require SAT IIs...except maybe Rice...; upper-middle/middle; it's still the middle! like middle class--upper middle or middle-middle? either way, it's still in the middle class! I don't know what the point of this post of mine is...

better than LOWER MIDDLE, like i am. it's pretty depressing to see other people w/ similar stats ask for chances and people act like they are blithering idiots for attempting to try for reach schools. hopefully, schools will see our whole package, not just numbers. well, not just the bad numbers. the good numbers they can fawn over.

for me, geography also plays a big reason; our state of LA is 49 in education; probably dropped under mississippi to 50 after the hurricanes. As long as they look for packaged deals, I'll be happy. Any of my reaches would be dreams coming true.

1940 SAT I (I am a newcomer to U.S.)
4.38 GPA (severe grade inflation at my high school)
Trying Stanford, WUSL, Swarthmore, Cornell
I am daydreaming...

ok when did this turn from a "whats your biggest reach thread" in to another "hi i have 4.0 GPa am I gona get in to ivy " thread?

I agree with the person that said anyone with a 3.5+ and hardest course load stand a chance anywhere. not that princeton ETC arnt reaches to these people.. but not BIG unreasonable reaches....

I got a C- on my first quarter for pre-calc. Second quarter, C. Third quarter, C+. I worked like MAD to get a B- on my final report card, but that's just a shade away from a C.

I've attended three different high schools- one in an entirely different country, where I didn't speak the language. When I got back to the US (I've spent my whole life here, btw, except for those six months abroad), I was totally screwed. My life pretty much sucked during my junior year, and my grades reflect that.

I have no awards. None. Nada. Zilch. ZERO. I didn't even know awards were neccessary.

My EC's suck. Horrendeously. I can't even spell.

I just took my SAT IIs for US his and Lit, and I'm expecting 500s to low 600s on each.

If I don't get into my ED, I'm screwed, cause I haven't written the majority of my essays. "Majority"... as in.. I've written.. one.

Dart, Duke, Rice (my uber, shot-in-the-dark reaches), Northwestern, Vanderbilt, UVA, NYU, (my other uber, shot-in-the-dark reaches) UMICH, BU, Rutgers (<- that's where I'm going)..

Well, it actually goes along well with a thread I started before I saw this one about people's stats and reaches...didn't want to do two of the same thing. Sorry. Anywho, I do consider thhose reaches being as I have no hook. I'm not trying to be arrogant or anything. Sorry if I offended.

i don't think you were being arrogant. you were just being very typical cc. believe me, with our gpas and SATs, having no hook doesn't make a school a reach.

I have the biggest reaches ever guys.
Instead of taking the SAT, I took a nap. Im applying to Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Berkeley. Im looking to major in pizza.
My gpa is a 8.9 weighted (yeah i took 33 AP's) but a 2.8 unweighted. I'm not a liar.
