who's in the admission committe?

if I'm applying to engineering school, do engineering professors look at my file?

or do they process it randomly?

There’s an admissions committee. I dunno exactly who, but I think they’re dedicated admissions officers. They spend from November to March reading apps non-stop, and then the rest of the time they’re promoting the schools and stuff. Not something a professor really has time for.

I’m not sure for engineering, but I know professors in other colleges get asked if they want a second opinion on a candidate.
Each college has their own admissions committee, but it would make sense to have a few people look through each acceptance to make sure no huge mistakes were made [Don’t quote me on this].

From what I understand, every application to ILR is read by a professor as well as adcoms. I may have misunderstood that, though.

AAP Admissions is basically run by the professors.

I’m pretty sure engineering admissions is also read by professors as well as admissions officers.

I ran into the Director of Admissions of COE while I was on one of my visits and he said that he has a team, but that he PERSONLLLY reads each and every applicaiton to COE.

Professors do read applications for all of the colleges, yes. However, the extent to which they are involved varies.
