Just hope it doesn't rain again like last yr...that made it even more special...NOT!

I called last week and was told that they would review my application with priority and that I would have a decision by Friday. Well, today is Monday and it still says they have not made a decision yet. I called again today and the lady said that I will have to wait until mid-February to hear. Can other people call and see what they say?

Oh and EVERYONE from my high school has found out. Some kids with considerably lower stats then mine have gotten in. I have 35 ACT, 4.2 GPA etc

Maybe it's a reverse psychology hard to get thing; they drive you crazy not knowing if they like you or not so when they do want you you'll have to say yes!!!! I'm sure you'll get in; those are great stats.

Raining, and hot at the same time. Coming from the left coast we are not used to the humidity combined with heat. Tensions ran high on move-in day, which is too bad because I wanted it to be a special day to remember. Oh well. We'll still remember it!

Goodschoolhopefully, foghorn & bigmike - I remember last year there were a few students on CC who didn't hear for weeks. You might go back and look at the old threads. I don't recall what their outcomes were, but I felt so badly for them for having to wait while everybody else already had their results. Hopefully you'll get your answer soon :-)

Bigmike...if they offer than IMHO don't accept. You are only going to walk in with a chip. You are ticked...I get that, but UMCP is a big school, you will be a number. If you want personalized attention, than you will never be happy. The DORMS stink. you will have TAs, classes will be larger. You also will have great experiences, your mind will be stretched and there is nothing like wathing the football team entering Byrd Stadium. It is all upon how you enter UMD...p.o at being the last ...no fun...thankful for the acceptance and you will love it

Did you ask when your friends completed their apps? Were you the last?

If you want UMD, you will truly not care if it is 2/15 (which is what they posted) or 4/1.

Last question...tomorrow you get IN and Honors will you still have this animosity?

IF you have a 35 ACT and a 4.2 why are you worrying? It is a no brainer even for OOS. 35 i in for UVA (NO 2 PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN THE NATION...UMCP IS 18)

Oregonian...YOU FORGOT TO ADD IN THAT SOME OF US HAD TO PARK IN ANOTHER LOT :(

I do agree, I look back at it now and laugh...however, waiting an hour for the bins and 15 min tp get on the elevator at that time wasn't so funny

well just hung up from admissions, they said tomorrow, again. My son did have everything in early, they had a computer problem with the ACT scores and thats why his took so long. The scores never transfered over , even tho i called several times to check, in early November and they told me they had them not to worry. So wish us luck, that Tues a.m. it is. Good luck, i hope all of you hear.

My daughter had a similar issue at a school she really liked; everyone else from her school heard but her; admissions office was messed up; she was freaking out for two weeks...finally they admitted her and she decided she didn't like them anymore. I hope you guys hear tomorrow!!!!

bullet - I'm thinking you were a little tough on bigmike - I'm not getting that he is so p.o.'ed as much as anxious - which I understand - he's a new poster and clearly this waiting is getting to him - I certainly get it bigmike - to say he would get in UVA is a bit bold, you know how that tier is usually a reach and never a safty or match. Great stats bigmike, know I am waiting with you. Bullett has some good insight and posts can often appear harsher than intended so hope you do consider Maryland when you get your acceptance. Bullett, you are a wealth of info for perspective Maryland students, keep it up!

I just heard from U maryland yesterday and got in,
but i wasnt expecting to hear until 4/1 cause i didnt
apply until 1/19 haha. maybe its cause i entered part 1 before dec 1?
i had 1240 sat, not to good, and im oos

yeah i'm far from p.o'ed, i'm just a little bit confused (and extremely anxious!!), that's all. thanks for your replies guys!

Hang in there bigmike. I am sure your stats will get you in - there has to be some technical problem, as others have mentioned.

The waiting must be murder!

Yeah I have a 3.91 UW/4.5 W and 2250, I definitely feel like I should get in too. I guess we just have to wait, fellas.

big mike - I sent you a pm
I must say I am encouraged that some high stats have not heard yet!

well here we go again, the ad. counselor said it would defin be up today, do you see it? My son has heard from all his other 3 big state schools already and early, with no problem. We are very disapointed with the way UMD is handling his admissions. Sorry ,just had to vent!

Nothing for me today either. Venting is always welcome on these forums - it helps me anyways. Maybe later today?? Or not...

Did you check the website today? My son finally got his acceptance this morning but did not receive an email first. We just randomly checked the site(admission decision) as we do each morning.

Not today either.

same hereee
