Who's tired of studying for finals?

LOL! Thought I'd start this thread for those of you who need a break like me. I don't have a life right now, as I'm consumed with all these papers and studying.

I'd love to hear what all of you are doing to relieve the stress. Humor me - PLEASE!

Well, right now, to relieve stress, I'm going to bed. (Goodnight!)

I am coping by using denial...

...
...
...

...what exams?

Night, anisky! Sweet dreams! ;)

im at work..sooo..im not studying by default, that's my story and im sticking to it..however, i must say i'd rather be studying than working at midnight on a saturday night. ew.

Well, I'm not sure about that one, Nikki422. At least with working you're bringing in some dough.

haha..not a lot though..not a lot. i feel like a slightly over paid volunteer

I procrastinate. However, this isn't necessarily bad. Remember this: studying right before going to bed helps solidify the material because there won't be any interference with other activities to cause a partial memory. I actually work better at the last minute because the stress/nerves helps, though this may not be the case for everyone. Mnemonic devices are also good, but learning by rote solidifies the memories best. Overall, relating new material to stored memories is the best way to move it to long term memory.

Katt, your PM inbox is full, so I cannot send you a message.

I am male, by the way.

I agree with christophsky: internalization of material is qualitatively and performatively better than raw memorization.

Yeah, I know, but at least it's something. I'm waitressing several nights a week and it's hell on the studying act. I've had to learn to develop a taste for coffee.

Oh, coffee is nectar of the gods. I even drink decaf at night simply because I love the taste.

I think I'm going to go back to my days of bartending..THAT was fun..and really good money.. :D Maybe I can pay for my tuition afterall...hehe

It's funny, I never liked it before. I guess because my parents never drank it. BUT...I love the stuff now..

Nikki, bartending wouldn't be bad at all. The tips in waitressing are soooo much better than I could get in any other job right now.

Katt,

nikki practiced bartending for me and poured appletini in my lap; no tip for you nikki!

OOOHH, sounds interesting, nspeds. Maybe you can enlighten us a little more. ;)

BTW, my inbox is empty now.

Whatever man..you liked it, don't lie! :D

yeah..bartending was actually great the more i think about it..i only worked 3 nights a week, if that and pulled anywhere from 800-1500..it was wonderful really. but my boyfriend made me quit because he was jealous..eh, but now that we're ovvvvvvvvvvver. hmm. ;) the plot thickens

Hey, I'll have to venture over your way, Nikki. I'm at UMD. Well, at least for another week or so.
