Who's your ALO when you are no longer in High School?

My son goes to HS about 20 miles away and will be graduating this year. Should he not get into the Academy this year, who would be his ALO next year. A new one based on his zip code or the same ALO as this year?

The ALO is for a region so the ALO shouldn't change. Having said that, my cadet went through 3 ALOs due to retirements and moves.

In my sons case, if he were to go to the high school for his district, he'd have a different ALO than his has now with the HS 20 miles away. So, which would he have if not accepted this year?

Okay...official answer (at least for AZ).

ALO's are assigned by their Liaison Officer Director's to schools normally. So if your DS/DD went to HS XXXX and had ALO "Y" it might change if they went to a community college, university, etc., depending upon who is assigned that school.

HOWEVER...it "probably" wouldn't as the previous ALO would know the candidate and would be the best person to work/help them through the process again.

At least that's how we do it in Arizona and I'm told by other LOD's that our system is "typcal" of others.

Steve
USAFA ALO

i pre-applied my senior year in h.s. and then actually applied three years later. in my applications, i put down my home town and my ALO was the same both times (he lived in the same city).
I'm sure if I had put down my college address, they would have assigned me the ALO for that area, maybe an ROTC commander...
you *should *get the same one unless they officially retire.
