Why are the UC admissions d.eadlines so early???

Why do the UC's (and CSU's) have such early d.eadlines? A lot of other schools, you might have until January or even early spring to apply. The UC's only give you about a month to apply. Why is this the case?

Also, why is the the word _ lines censored???

deadlines ???

well it's in November which is like two months

Well my guess is that the UCs receive more application than any other universities in the country. UCLA alone received more than 50,000 applications last year. Naturally it'll take longer to evaluate all the applications. Also you can't ignore the number of transfer applications... total number of application received can easily equal the number of freshman application in other universities. and they do not even start reviewing the transfer applications until late February.

I think it's understandable why the deadline's so early compared to other schools.

I don't understand either.... November is for spring admission for other schools...

Ahh, I see. Thanks everyone for making some great points. I wrote d.eadlines becuase for the full word is censored.

deadlines is censored?!
