Why aren't we all in NOLA?

Here in the northeast, temperature is below freezing, winds are howling, and the snow might be 2 feet before it is over. In NOLA it is 64 and clear and there are Mardi Gras parades. What's wrong with this picture?

FC- Rain is expected for Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras days. The wife will have me out rain or shine. Every where else it’s another Tuesday in February. New Orleans is the greatest place to grow up / live! Happy Mardi Gras

Yeah, I did see rain in the forecast for Tuesday. Still, beats all this snow!

D also applied to Brown when she applied to Tulane 2 years ago. She chose Tulane. I want to ask her if she thinks she made the right decision… a blizzard weekend or a Mardi Gras weekend?

D and I are headed there Saturday - just checked the forecast and it is calling for high 50’s/low 60’s and no rain all weekend. PERFECT! Of course, that also describes the weather when we visited Minneapolis in September, Connecticut College in October, GW in April…

It is true that northern schools have nicer weather in September and maybe into October (although NOLA can be pretty nice for most of October). But November, December, January, February, March and the first part of April? I’ll take NOLA hands down. Works out well that traditional semesters aren’t in the summer.
