my mid-years are the best of my career and show an upward trend, but now the UC's (especially Berkeley, the place I really want to go to) won't get to see them :(....

YEAH MAN! same here!

They do, but only for a very limited amount of applicants who under go supplemental review.

im sure the last thing they want is more paperwork from 40000+ applicants :)

pity, i have a really nice upward trend this yr, but i didnt get a supplemental review either

senior mid-years are clearly an important indicator of how well a student is performing during his/her senior year, and how he/she might perform in college. It's truly a shame...

^ if mid-years were reported online like the transcript, they wouldn't have any paperwork :P.

They are reported online (for the supplementals that a sliver of applicants have to file).

However, if you wait for midyears then either the admissions readers have to wait until midyear before they can start rating applicants, or they have to do a second pass and re-rank everyone once grades are in. Either represents additional work.

All I can say is, thank God for the UC system and their ignorance toward Senior Year Grades.
