I rather doubt that they can. I’m certainly not aware of any gates at, say, Stanford by which the entire campus could be barricaded. In fact, it’s hard to see how that would be even possible considering how large the Farm is. Yet that didn’t stop Chelsea Clinton from studying there.

Furthermore, Jenna Bush went to the University of Texas, a gigantic public school. First Family members are not merely famous celebrities, but are also targets for political violence, requiring round-the-clock Secret Service protection.

If UT could find a way to properly safeguard a Bush daughter, especially in the wake of 9/11, then surely Berkeley could find a way to safeguard Emma Watson.

I’ll have to agree with Sakky. My friend told me people were following Franco whenever he was around or tried to get a look at him lol. If anything, I’d venture a guess and say that it’ll be harder to blend in a smaller setting than a large one. But the problem with a large school is that if you do get pointed out, well game over for the next hour or so. lmao
Damn, we’re losing out on celebs and athletes.

A lot of celebrities go to public school … just not Berkeley. Like what sakky said, countless celebs went to UCLA (like Patrick Stewart, John Williams, Franco, etc). [UCLA: The School of Stars](UCLA)
I don’t think size matters that much, anyone can blend in if they just try hard enough. I think its just location-wise. UCLA is popular to celebs mainly because of its proximity to Los Angeles and Hollywood, and consider that it’s the only renowned public school in that area, no wonder a lot of celebs went there.

To be fair, I was talking about people who were already celebrities before college, just as Emma Watson is now, not those who became famous after or during college. Nobody had heard of Stewart, Williams, or Franco before they went to UCLA.

Another clarification matter: Emma Watson WAS going to choose Berkeley, but she realized that I graduated this year and that I wouldn’t be around next year, so she decided to go to Columbia instead. So if anyone is to be blamed, it should be me.

Now I’ve heard 3 different places. I had heard Brown or Yale before, but now Columbia? I’d just like to know where she is going, just because I’m curious

Shouldn’t she be officially enrolled/registered in whatever university she has chosen? My sister’s a big fan and she says it should be posted on her site when it becomes official, but it should be official right?

maybe because she’s a smart, talented young woman whose desires are dictated by her own independent will instead of the wants of her fans.

Maybe she’s looking for something after the Harry Potter gig ends. She was never raised to be a professional actor. Before the movies, the only experience she had acting was in school plays.

God, im sick of all this “why is emma watson going…” sh1t

I’ve never seen her on campus in my entire life, though I’ve probably walked past her. With so many people walking around, it’s unlikely–or so it seems to me–that you’re gonna distinguish a celeb/star athlete from just another student.
And the only reason I bump this is that Emma isn’t going to Columbia. She’s going to Brown. You know who else goes to Brown? Alicia Sacramone. Hot.
