Why did you choose the SAT over the ACT?

Why did you choose go for the SAT instead of the ACT?

Because I didn’t learn about the existence of the ACT until after I started studying for the SAT. >_>"

If I had known beforehand, I would have taken the ACT. The ACT is definitely my kind of test.

Just because the ACT is not offered in my area.

KEAN DIDN’t YOU GET A 2400?!

Although my school really focuses on the ACT (I think most of my classmates haven’t even heard of the SAT), I’m personally much more familiar with the SAT, having taken practice tests as early as fifth grade. Also, since my writing/grammar and reading comprehension have always been very strong (and my math is really…icky), I was sure I would do better on the SAT than the math-centered ACT.

I just like the SAT better.

The science section scared me.

I took the ACT and I felt like someone graded my test incorrectly because I know I didn’t miss as many questions as they claimed I did… I did much better (percentile-wise) on the PSAT, so I just took the SAT and did much better.

I’m probably more of an ACT person, but I didn’t really know about it until after studying a lot for the SAT.

I like how challenging how the SAT is.

It’s really a motivation.

Because I did better on the PSAT than I did on the PLAN. I studied for the PSAT, so I didn’t want to lose all that and start all over again with the ACT. Additionally, I find the science and essay portions of the ACT to be very challenging. (I like the more abstract SAT essays.)

Easy Answer: I didn’t :)

My intent is to take both.

sameeeeeeeeeee. ^
If one fails, the other may not, and the SAT seems to be failing me.

Same.
ACT is much easier for math/science oriented people.
But, coming from an SAT obsessed area, I have to take the SAT regardless of how well I do on the ACT because no one seems to believe that a high ACT score means anything…=/

It does possess meaning though. Schools accept either one.

I didn’t. With increasing competition, I’m pretty much forced to do both tests, and hopefully do well on one of them. =|

I went with SAT since I felt really rushed on the PLAN test and the science section freaked me out.
Plus I like the puzzle-type questions on the SAT.

agreed with Luca

i feel like there’s a big discrepancy between the tests…
someone i know got like a 2000 on the sat and a 35 on the act without much prep

everyone says the act is easier.

i’m gonna take the act if i don’t get at least a 2250 this time, but even that’s not even comparable to a 35. so i still might need to take the act =/
