Why do i have different USC ID numbers!!!

Well, USC sent me some letters and e-mails with USC ID #1 and when i print my teacher recommendations the cover sheet has my name but a different USC ID # (USC ID #2). I filled in the USC ID #2 for my teacher recommendation. Should i change it back to USC ID #1? Why are there two different USC ID numbers in the first place? Thanks for helping me out

Edit: When i finished the application part 1, i had received a mail that has my USC ID#1 on it. Somehow when i print the teacher recommendations, there is my USC ID #2 attached to it.

I don’t know, but I’d guess it would be a good idea to ask the admissions office.

If you do end up at USC, your (real) USC ID # will be printed on your USCard.

I think you should attach USC ID#1 to the letter of recommendations otherwise it would confuse people in admission.

I work at the Admissions Processing Office and some people are just doing it wrong when it comes to searching a database for a person lol. They just end up making an entire new USCID for a person who already has one - this can easily happen if your handwriting is really bad when you fill out information cards and the such or if you have a weird name haha.

I have already submitted Part 1 of my application and i have also started on Part II but i still haven’t received my USC ID#. Im afraid im will be running out of time to give my teachers the rec form if i dont do so soon. Can i just leave the USC ID box blank?

wishbone12345- Call admissions to get your id number. If there is some reason why you cannot do that, admissions has said you can write your social security number or birthdate in that spot and it will be filed correctly.
