Prep schools aren't bad or anything, but why do people want to go to school there? 65% percent of accepted Harvard students (class of 2008) came from pubic schools. How do prep schools like Andover compare to smaller private schools?

Yes, but 35% went to private schools and considering only 5% of kids go to private school that's a very high percentage.

The good prep schools offer things very few private schools can touch. It's a college like experience for kids who are ready for it younger. Great classes, sports and activities. It's like summer camp all year!

It's the experience, and the fact that there are so many more opportunities then that a public school would offer. And if you can afford it, why not prep school?

sigh...if I could only go back 4 years and attend prep school...I'm now at the end of my junior year in public school and I have to force myself to go to school everyday...

The reason prep school is great because they you more than other schools give. ^_^ Also when you have a free period, you get to sleep and dont have to go to study all at all. :] Also you get your own email account and it's great. You can get extra help with any teacher and they will be there for you! Advisee dinner is great too!

Yeah, the teachers at a lot of prep schools will do ANYTHING for you...they really care for the students.

:] Totally. I wish I was back at my old prep school. [shrugs]
