<p>This is an essay question for a couple scholarship apps, and I'm clueless as to how to respond. My family doesn't have any major financial need, so I can't use that reason. I will have addressed my educational/career goals, EC's, and favorite classes in the other essays on these apps, so I'm wondering what I should go for with this prompt. Thanks for your help!</p>
<p>You could talk about to forfill your education/degree without the worry of finance - would make you more focussed towards your studies with only one thing on your mind - grades.</p>
<p>Slip in some "black-mail" in an attempt to tell them that if you do not have financial help and you are worrying about finance - their average grades will slip and they will go down in the tables? :P</p>
<p>Tell them that you are guaranteed to make the most out of their aid as possible!</p>
<p>I said that my profession (Journalist) probably will not pay very well, and that if I do not get scholarships, I will be doomed to pay off student loans for years to come. Also, if your major most likely will not get you a high paying job, tell them that you obviously chose it for noble reasons (want to make the world a better place, etc.) and not because you are greedy.</p>
<p>When you send in letters of recommendation, see if one of your teachers will write "will make the most of this scholarship/sure to become productive in society"</p>
