I need some advice/suggestions on the following question:

Why are you deserving of this scholarship?

I'm not sure what to write. This is what I am planning to write about, but I think it sounds pathetic:

-I've worked so hard (I'm in all IB classes, and I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA), and I don't think money should be an obstacle in achieving my dreams to pursue a higher education.

Eh, I wouldn't mention your GPA...especially if they have asked that in an application or something.

Hate this question, but this is what Iv'e usually done...now I can't attest to its success, but I think it was an ok idea.

I always mention that specific scholarship, like The John Doe Memorial Scholarship will truly help with my endeavors into a successful college experience...or whatever.

And I also usually mentioned (like you kind of said) that with the scholarship, I would spend less time worrying about paying for college, and more time experiencing college, and how through that process, I would become a more knowledeable, and hopefully better person (yea, cheesy, whatever)

The last thing I would suggest is to write about how badly you are wanting to attend "such" school, or how ever since you were little, you were creating little electronic devices that would later lead to a love for engineering. Just try to express your love for learning, and that the scholarship will enhance your ability to learn more...or something.

Again, don't take these too seriously, they seem just as lame...but they are just suggestions.

Right. "I plan to rock the world after I get my degree in ***** and improve the lives of lots of people. My goal is to give back to society which has enabled my being here." Believe me, something along this line works every time.
