Why do you guys love the Blue Book so much?

It doesn't even have answer explanations - how are you supposed to learn from your mistakes?

By SEEING what you did wrong and applying it. Most of my mistakes on this test, probably about 95% were not reading the question right. I knew how to do it, I just flipped something or missed a step.

You can find explanations at the collegeboard website /satstudyguide

The tests in the Blue Book are the best source of review materials (3 are actual SATs) because they come from the College Board. The other institutional test prep companies must make up their own questions because of copyrights on the real SAT material. Some companies do a better job than others at creating similar materials but the Blue Book is still the best source.

The Blue Book has the closest “real” practice you’re going to get. I’ve taken some section practices from other sources, such as Kaplan and McGraw and they either simplify or complicate the material.

I remember one instance during a Kaplan practice exam (offered at our school in hopes of persuading a few of us to enroll in their SAT program) and the questions were definately harder than what would ever be on the real SATs (what a way to advertise - “man your score is pretty low based on our test…join our program and we’ll improve it!”)
