Why do you want to apply to Vassar?

I am trying really hard to figure out if I want to apply to Vassar or not. I listened to the presentation that the rep gave at my school and I have some inclination to apply but I'm still not sure. Money's tight at my house so I do want to limit my applications.

So I was just wondering, why do you want to go to Vassar?

Vassar is in a beautiful setting, close to NYC if you want to visit, amazing academics, great professors, smart, diverse interesting students (lots from CA for a NY school), good size for a LAC--not tiny but big enough. Tons of majors, not too much rigidity in required courses, good arts, music, sports, good endowment, good admit rate to graduate schools, good rep with recruiters for jobs, great sense of community, rich history and reputation that's what comes to mind for me

If you listened to the presentation at the school and took a tour and are not sure why to apply, then do not apply. Did you stop and speak with 10 random students while you were there and ask them if they liked the school? If not, you did not take advantage of your visit and should move on to another school and implement my suggestions.

I listened to the presentation given at MY school - I don't have the resources to tour a school on the East Coast.

Native NJ--lighten up!

Go with the gut - think you'd like it there? But also be realistic - do you have what it takes to get in?

If you can answer those 2 questions, you'll probably know whether you should apply or not.

Nice library. Good arts program. Near to NYC. Beautiful campus. Great for sciences also. Great food. Those are stuff that I read from their brochures.
